Born and raised on Kauai and lived on Oahu for 8 years. I plan on moving back to Kauai sometime down the road. Yeah brah shipping to the islands is no joke! Always good to jump on a group buy and split the shipping:)

So far, Amazon is the best place to get stuff shipped here. Some online Toyota dealers ship to Hawaii for the smaller items reasonably. Big stuff like Grilles and Wheels are insane to ship. Also, finding stuff on Craigslist can sometimes be hit or miss finding a good deal. Cost of living and shipping is high here but I cannot see myself moving off the rock! Even going on vacation is expensive since we cannot drive to another state! I just bought round trip tickets to JFK, cost $1K. Cheaper to fly to Australia or Japan from Hawaii.

Thanks for all the input guys, so far the things I've been wanting to buy are rock sliders, a bed cover don't know which one yet, tires once the stock ones go bald and for wheels I think I'm going to stay stock and have them powder coated black, get a prinsu probably and then as my off roadin increases probably a lift. Oh and new grill, haven't decided yet on which one but will probably wait awhile to get one.

I argued with a guy from Tennessee on Ebay telling me Hawaii is an international country and tried to charge intetrnational shipping. I said , "we're the 50th state! You can send that stuff through Priority Mail". His reply was, "I didn't know there were 50 states in the US".
Stay in school boys and girls...

Amazon has been great on getting stuff shipped to Hawaii. You just have to maneuver around and see which Amazon will ship free.
Amazon just recently stopped shipping tires for free ( they finally caught on). There's stuff out there Amazon will ship free.
For my business, I just ordered 4 truck racks * FREE SHIPPING * .
Be careful on odds and ends stuff. There's a LOT of fake reviews in Amazon. One item I almost purchased had all 5 stars then noticed all the 5 stars were from same 4 people. SMH.

Yup. Amazon is usually the best bet to get things shipped. If not, Craigslist has some deals. Usually more expensive but worth it if you consider shipping

To all my "Locals Only" Hawaiians, there is another alternative shipping method I use from time to time for some items. Ship To Hawaii is a company that has a warehouse in California where you can send what you purchase online that has free shipping to all 48 states. Once in California, Ship to Hawaii sends it by boat or air depending on weight. There is a membership cost of three levels depending on needs. I shipped a new engine by boat and Headers by air and saved. For most items it might not make sense because of the minimal charges they have when shipping.$.02

    Lol. MaiTai...bleh.
The wife likes to play tourist sometime in Waikiki so we head down to the Royal Hawaiian beach bar after dinner. She orders those fancy fruity drinks. Eek.

The only thing sucks about living on an island is getting EVERYTHING flown/shipped here.
Other than that, I wouldn't live anywhere else. The beach, diverse cultures and food, weather, girls and girls. We've got the best bodied girls .

I ordered my bed mat and running boards off Amazon, couple months later they wouldn't even ship the same item to Hawaii. lol
