Need help figuring out 1. What this issue is and 2. What part do I need to solve the issue?

Currently my 3rd gen is experience a minor issue with the passenger airbag/seatbelt. When there’s someone in the seat, the “passenger airbag” light below the head unit is “off” and the airbag and seatbelt warning light on the gauge cluster is flashing. Also if someone is in the seat and unbuckles their seatbelt, no warning “dinging” happens. If there is no one in the seat, all of the same lights are present. I know it’s not the driver seat, as when I unbuckle my belt the warning noise dings, and I’ve checked the connections under both seats. I’ve also checked for any codes, nothing. Which has led me to believe the issue lies in the “passenger airbags occupancy” sensor. I would like to confirm that this is the issue, and if it is is that the only part that needs replacing.

I really would like a quick response or insight on this issue as it’s about that time of year where I need to get my truck inspected to renew my registration.

You should change your title as we leave "URGENT" for actual urgent items.

We save urgent help for stranded remote accident type things needing recovery or some other actual emergency.

Try editing your title to "minor issue with the passenger airbag/seatbelt for inspection."

I appreciate everyone’s input in changing my title, I am new to this whole forum thing and I was in a panic when writing it. I just wanted an answer quickly, but I see now that I could’ve worded it differently.

I feel dirty posting this forum, but it seems a similar issue was resolved by the dealer.

    https://www.toyotanation.com/thread...-bag-light-and-passenger-air-bag-off.1725546/

Before going that route, I'd disconnect the battery for 20 to 30 min check the seat SRS connections, and see if that resets the computer.

I feel like I recently saw this issue come up on TW. I'll keep searching.

Edit: sounds like a simple dealer fix

I’ve already disconnected the battery and checked all of my srs connections. But appreciate the link. I’ll check it out.

I would scan it for codes and see but I’d be looking at the occupant sensor under the seat.

Now I wanna know, where do you live that a vehicle inspection would actually catch such a thing?

Where I live they check for bald tires and if your headlights/tail lights work, period.
