    :help:
Having an issue with my 2008 SR5 4.0L automatic I'm planning to have checked out, but thought maybe someone here might be able to provide some insight.

For some reason my truck feels like it shifts down really hard when I am coming to a complete stop or as soon as I take my foot off the brake to accelerate. Sometimes it isn't that noticeable and other times it does it pretty hard. :notsure:

While I'm getting used to the way the trucks shifts compared the trucks I've driven before that were 2000 and older models, it doesn't seem to have any problem while I'm actually driving. It is just when I'm coming to a stop or about to take off. I have to have been driving in a higher gear, so it won't happen every time a pull the truck forward at an intersection for instance.I just bought the truck so I'm REALLY hoping it doesn't need serious transmission work!!

    Thanks

There was a Transmission TSB in 2009 to address a strange shift pattern from 1st to 2nd in 2009 models and I believe was subsequently extended to the 2008's .

This transmission reflash was then incorporated into the brake override recall reflash so if your truck has had neither of those done , that could be a solution

    Thank you OZ!
Wow, if it only a programming problem that would be great. I'll check with my local dealership. Shouldn't this have come up when I entered my VIN to check for recalls?
My truck has 120k miles on it so it doesn't fall within the warranty according to the TSB, perhaps that is why.
The previous owner had it maintained by the original dealer, so they SHOULD have taken care of it. I don't remember seeing a transmission or brake reflash on the maintenance history though.
I have an appointment to have the leaf springs inspected Tuesday, hopefully I can get an answer then.

It looks like T-SB-0250-12 may also be a possible cause.
