"It threw a code that indicated low fuel pressure"

Because they are looking at historical codes in the ECM, I wonder if the time stamp associated with that code matched your breakdown time. I can potentially see a intermittent low fuel pressure code with just a couple of gallons in the tank, but I can't understand that code with 3/4 full tank.

Yeah the low fuel pressure code was pulled from the time of breakdown.

    Yeah.
Yeah, these are the possibilities I can think of:

    - fuel pump hiccup
    - fuel pickup blockage
    - flaky fuel pressure sensor
    - Someone testing an EMP weapon nearby
    - Sunspots
    - Tuesday

Hmm, running the tank down to a few gallons isn't on that list.

But seriously, if there isn't more evidence for them to go on and it is running ok now with no codes, they aren't likely to start throwing parts at it just yet. While an annoyance on a new vehicle, if it happens again they will likely do some deeper diagnostics or try replacing something at that point.

Definitely bad gas. I had a burrito the other day from a gas station that put me into a stall at the grocery store mid shop.

Just a thought and a genuine question. Do "new model years" use repackaged parts from previous years or do new models have complete overhauls all parts for that model year?

With the supply chain shortage could a bad fuel pump be added to his truck? An old recalled one from a previous year?

    Yeah.
Not likely, unless there is now a new batch of bad pumps. Typically once they identify a part issue, they remove all the stock that has the issue. But, I suppose anything is possible. They would not use a refurb part on a new vehicle, and if they did they would have to disclose it. There is always the possibility that an individual part is defective, though.

Replying to JCSpaldo. My truck is also a 22. Ive had in less than a month, 950 miles. Ive noticed the transmission (AT) shifts constantly. When it is going into fuel saver mode I suppose it is...it feels like a lock up converter...it jumps and jerks. It isnt really bad just enough to be annoying. I'm taking it to the dealership on Friday to see if they can reprogram it. If I had it to do again Id have gotten a manual. I hope they are able to fix your issue. I see you posted in November so actually I hope its already fixed

That's just the shitty transmission logic trying to figure out what it's supposed to do. Some people claim it's better in the newer trucks, others say it's not. It should get better as you put more miles on it and it learns your driving, but if not an aftermarket tune is your best bet and it will drive way better.

Thank you for that input 758_Moto. I was told by the dealer that it might change when the computer figures out my driving so you saying the same there may be some validity to it. I also read about an tune too. Any recommendations for an aftermarket tune?
