Ok so I had the factory wiper blades on my 2017 Tacoma for about a year and a half before they finally wore out. I replaced them with Bosch (since I’ve used these in the past) and had Auto Zone tell me the size needed since I was not sure. Put them on and the drivers side and occasionally the passenger will drag across the windshield. So, I bought some RainX latitude blades. Again the same issue. Even when it’s pouring down rain they drag across. I’ve tried cleaning the blades with WD40 and cleaned the windshield itself. Neither have been successful.

Just curious if anyone else has had the issue and what a fix might be.

    Thanks,
    Max

Don't clean wiper blades with anything except Isopropyl Alcohol.
Clean windshield with Coca Cola. Trust me. I am an engineer...

I’ll have to give that a try. I read online I believe that WD40 works, hence why I tried it. I’ll know for next time not to. Thanks!

Kinda sounds like a ploy to get people to buy their own wiper blades...

Don’t be ridiculous, plenty of people running aftermarket wipers to include myself, with no issues.

Nope. Just wet a rag with Coca Cola, wipe it on and wipe it off. Cleans all the road crap. Don't believe me? Next time you have a corroded battery terminal, pour some Coca Cola on it and prepare to be amazed. Will clean it down to the bare metal.

    None so far
Years ago we used Coke on rusted bolts and nuts for removal, better than penetrating oil.

My experience is the OEM blades are far superior to any aftermarket option. The OEMs on my daughter's Yaris are 2 year old and sweep as if new. The ones on my wife's Corolla are a year old and perform like they were put on yesterday.

I don't who makes them. But they're doing something right

If you can feel any roughness on the glass, clay bar only takes a few minutes to remove that contamination.
I do it once a year on our vehicles (along with applying aquapel).

I've used it to clear concrete out of electrical conduits.

Sounds to me that the wiper arm may be loose.
