Yup, Im loving my tundra racks so far, going to take it out to ocotillo this weekend. Hopefully not too much coilover to tie rod rub.

Good to hear. I was going to wait to see what 74weld comes up with but after talking with them at overland expo and hearing a price estimate I said no I’m good lol

Yeah but a bulletproof billet solution would be nice.

Yeah, I’m sure it’s worth the money but just not for me.

    Boosted Money Pit....
Mine did not weld in the new barrels and went with the setup that solo now offers as well as Basikbiker. But in retrospect new barrels is prob the better option. since the rack is now shifted from the stick location plus folks state zone movement as there is nothing on the other side to keep it firm shifting left or right. Ideally it would have a 3rd mount on opposing side. not a Simple change

I am looking to go with the 2.25 over soon with the taller shock tower and have considered the JD slide rack, have been also waiting on 74Weld's option. What did Jesse have to say about the Tundra rack vs the slide rack? And why did you decide to go that route with the Tundra rack?

    I have a 3rd Gen so slide rack wasn’t really a option

All good. Spoke with Jesse for a bit at JD one day. I through out the options for 3rd gens, he had researched a bit and told me go with the tundra rack. I’ve spoke with a few guys running the tundra rack and some paired with. +2.25 kit and said they’ve been happy with it.

Im 2wd, so I might go back in there and see if I'm able to use one of the diff mount barrels and only have to cut out one new hole for a barrel.

    Stock-ish
Bulletproof/billet would be cool, but still leaves out the part of having actual steering power, which is the biggest complaint I’ve had with these Tacoma/tundra racks.
The Broncos/4th gen Tacomas have much more steering power with their electronic powered racks, and no seals to blow out lol.
But I do come from crawlers with hydro assist/full hydro, where you can turn 40” tires aired down to 5psi with your pinky so maybe I’m just complaining.
I’m sure it’s been brought up on here but I haven’t been on here in a long time, but check out Full Flame Fab on instagram. Basically making a mechanically backed up full hydro setup which is dang bitchin.
