Wow, that's actually great customer service. Just curious if you'd share with all of us what dealership treated you with great service. Enjoy your new Tacoma!

Man, I'n my 6th year of trouble free ownership. I feel bad for the Op....

Matter of fact, I'm disappointed that my non OEM battery is still going strong. It wasn't even built by Toyota!!! :D

Absolutely destroys gas mileage though. Lost 3 MPGs with it.

Impressed that they figured it out so quickly and had a solution to your problem in a timely manner. There have been a few examples here of things going south real quick with some dealerships. Welcome to TW and enjoy your new truck. I'm Still happy after 2.5 years and zero issues.

You might wanna give the truck a good 2000-3000 miles before considering the tune.
I have no issues with my truck it drives just fine after break in.

Now that's service! Manufacturing isn't always perfect, it's unfortunate it happened to you though. The thought of taking it off of another truck that arrived in my opinion is above and beyond. I'm sure that vehicle has someone else's name on it that now has to wait a month or two. That's compliment to corporate worthy.

2023 dclb SR5. 4800 miles and it's sitting at dealer with front axle leak and a coolant leak waiting for the Toyota rep to come see it. Not very happy atm

It was nice to hear something good about the dealer. When I first saw the post headline I thought oh no! not another whinner about a new Tacoma truck.
After reading the post I was happy that the dealer was good to him and got it resolved.
Now he says he is very happy with the truck and runs like a champ but he is thinking of a tune. Why? if it runs like a champ then don't listen to those here that have the tune. The truck is new give it more time before falling into the rabbit tune hole like so many here. just. My Sport is 2 years old and I would never tune as it runs like a champ too.just saying

mine was built 12/22 from baja plant. Picked it up in febuary. At 338 miles the power steering pump went bad. It’s at the dealership right now they replaced the rear differential due to excessive noise and they are replacing the brake booster because the pedal is vibrating and making noise. Truck only has 1500 miles. Pretty frustrated actually. Should be ready to pick up Monday

Be thankful your dealership is agreeing to do anything. That’s a blessing, don’t take it for granted.

@Gfenza89 - I understand your frustration giving the truck is new. Just keep in mind you are covered under warranty and knowing Toyota they will do whatever it takes to fix it and get you back into your truck. It does sound like your dealer is competent and doing the necessary repairs to the truck. Be patient and give them a chance, and as with me I tried very hard not to show any frustrations and not to fault the dealer. You can always contact Toyota of America and open a case for the issues just to have some documentation on the truck and any future issues…although I am praying that you have none and end up very happy in the near future…take care my friend.

@Nirango kid - I will not be doing any tune on the truck right now, only crossed over the 1000 mile threshold and would definitely wait at least another 1500-2000 miles more before I would consider it. I am giving the truck the proper break in period and will assess the need for any tune after that point. I do haul a bass boat and a two stall horse trailer and so far the truck has done both without any issues.
