Issues turning off truck

Ok. I need to know if other have seen this or advice on what this could be.


I recently have started seeing a couple things when I turn the car off. Somewhat intermittently.

• Dome light not coming on immediately after turning truck off
• Engine shutting off but all others staying on - radio, etc. Almost like accessory mode
• Truck beeps when I get out and shut the door. Similar beep to when the truck is on and you get out and shut door with keys outside of the truck.

Any thoughts?

 

Headlights on?

 

Most of the time on auto but it doesn't seem to make a difference

 

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to clear all the computers (shade tree computer reboot).

 

Negative. Something to try that I didn't think about.

 

User Error?

 

Elaborate? What would I be doing wrong?

 

Remember that this will also clear everything the ECM and TCM have learned so the truck will drive differently for a while after this.

 

Oh ok. Well I thought about taking it in to the dealer to see if they could find anything. 1500 miles till the factory warranty is up

 

I should also note that I changed out light bulbs in the map and dome lights and had a speaker amp installed .

 

Are you turning the truck off after opening the door? For some reason if you do that the truck beeps like the keys are in the ignition (even though i have a push button) til you close the door.

May or may not be your issue, but I killed my dome light fixture attempting to put in an LED bulb, after which all of my interior lights began to malfunction. Thankfully the dealership replaced it under warranty although that was two trips and 4+hour wait time.

 

This is the problem... pull out the dome LED. I bought some that kept shorting the LED and causing funky light issues. I ordered the VLED light recommended in another thread and will try it next.

The shop that did the amp is also going to look at a couple things for me as well.

 

The place that did the amp thinks they found it. They found that the amp was back feeding and staying on about 15 seconds past the time of turning the truck off. they put in a relay to cut it off and the issue went away.

 

If you push the start/stop button when the truck isn't in park, the audio stays on.

Try it.

but the truck IS in park and it was staying on.

 

Hmmmm, my brand new truck doesn't do that.
