    OP some research on using 4WD and lockers, lots of good videos out there. What you’re describing sounds 100% normal,,, other than the shops suggested a front locker for fire roads, but hey, you got it now so enjoy!

    IMHO the TRD OR has plenty of capability for what the majority of owners will do, and even better with the addition of a mild lift and better off-road tires. Front lockers are useful if you really use/need them, otherwise it's a bit of bling.

    A few 1st gen tacos had the Multi-mode T-case, the same one used in the 4runners that allows for an AWD setting for dry pavement use.
