Do you know what the cost was to balance the drive shaft? If they didn't give you a breakdown of cost, what was your total cost? Thanks. Really want to know so I can shop around locally.

Problem solved. After several visits to my dealership and a variety of guesses, "Your tires aren't balanced. It's your winter tires. It's because the rear leaf springs were replaced as part of a recall and one of your brackets was bent. Now that we've fixed that everything probably fits a bit looser so you may have some new vibrations." (WTF?) !!!! and one new U joint I finally found a drive line specialist. Not only did it need all the U joints replaced and the shaft balanced but the U joint Toyota sold me was not installed correctly. Apparently the clips that hold the joint together are colour coded to indicate varying thicknesses to enable finessing of the fit. But the colours should be the same on opposing sides of the joint to keeping thins aligned, centred and balanced. The new joint had a variety of coloured clips none of which matched.
All rectified for reasonable $s. It drives perfectly smooth now.
