I just wanted to see if anyone has the answer to the problem I’m having. I recently regeared to 4.88 my Trd OFFRoad. A week after I had a leak in my pinion seal. Went back to the shop to have it fixed and the pinion seal was changed and the leak stopped. I looked again today there was a slight leak developing on the pinion seal again. Anyone know what may be causing my pinion seal to fail so quickly?

Second that. My guess is they used there "in house" specs or install procedure and didn't bother to look at the vendor or manufacturer specs prior to install.

He’s a really reputable gear shop here in SoCal. I really hope that’s not the case. I wiped down all the gear oil and I’m hoping to just residual from the last leak. I’ll see what he says. Any chance he breather is clogged with only being that I have 5000 miles?

A clog is possible, but I feel like the pressure that it would have to generate in order to blow that seal would be more than enough to pop the clog in the breather open. It would be easy to check the breather though, maybe a good time to go ahead and relocate higher if you haven't already.
