Hey Guys, this is my 1st post! I just got a 2009 Tacoma PreRunner with stock wheels and tires(yuck!) with the idea they would be replaced very quickly. I couldnt see tacking on an extra $1600 for fancy dealer rims I didnt like. I just got an estimate from Les Schwab for 3" lift, 16x8 rims and 285/75R-16 tires for $2100 installed. Lift and labor alone was $328 plus $120 for labor. Not bad....I'm not sure I trust them though. Has anybody else here had their lifts installed by them? Also, they told me since I have the STAR safety system which is an active traction control monitored by a computer, installing a lift would screw that all up. I've never had that in any other car I drove and got along just fine without it and I've been in a few hairy sideway slides! What do you think about this?

First, I havent heard of a lift screwing with any saftey system. Second, what kind of lift is being installed? Wheels?

Schwab installs a basic kit (RevTec) with AALs in back and spacers in front.

OK, here's an update. I went to my Toyota dealer after work and talked to the service manager about getting a lift installed and what it would do to my STAR system and the warranty. He said as long as you keep it reasonably sane, in other words 3", then it shouldn't cause a problem with a single thing". He also said that in the case of the Schwab job, they probably accidently did something to the poor guy's STAR system and passed it off like it was the guy's fault for not telling them. So, I think I will look around for someone else to install it for me. Any takers? :D

LMAO! Arrest them! :p Yes, I do. I'm just relating what I've been told. It sounded fishy to me and I don't want to take chances with my new truck.
