My question for this thread and poll is this, has Toyota fixed issues as of February 2016? In other words, has Toyota's assembly of the third generation Taco been perfected to be labeled flawless/feature complete?

We've all seen threads with people complain about issues like low transmission fluid, vibrations at certain RPMs, howling noises, limp mode, stuck in 4x4...the list goes on.

This is the first year production of semi new model. New drive train, body, features...

During production, companies make adjustments to the assembly line and add different parts or install them correctly as well as assembly workers familiarizing themselves with a new instalation process of these new pieces. It has been more than 6 months since the production of the third gen has started. As consumers, we want to know if Toyota has been doing their due diligence to make sure they are selling a quality consumer product.

The intent of this poll is to see if Toyota has been listening to the consumer. It also helps people who want to buy a Taco make a decision based on what the current quality of manufacturing is.

Please vote if you believe whether or not your truck, built on or after Feb. 2016, has been built without any issues.

Doesn't matter when a truck is made. Anything can have a problem at any given time. People on the production line can forget things or not properly do something the correct way. A part failure can happen at any given time. Ect. Doesn't seem to really be too many design flaws.

But I understand what your trying to see by starting this thread. Things like the hood glue issue and the airbag bolts have been corrected. And I'm sure they are tightening up the quality control. However problems will still arise. I don't understand the fluid issues. I mean if all the tacomas with tow package were like 1 quart low I could see where and how that problem arises and I could maybe see how Toyota would try to claim it's fine but the levels are all over the place. Tells me they are being hand filled. However I don't think they are being checked at the factory and no dealer tech is going to verify this while doing a PDI.

As for the people who voted Im curious as to what problems you guys have had

Only 1/5 has voted with an issue. I encourage people to also post a brief word as to what their issue is. Could also show us what are the main problems with this gen.

Also, on the issue about PDI. Dealership PDIs are garbage. I was a juror for a case where this guy was claiming that his crown victoria was defective from factory. The guy began to have alignment issues after 40k miles when his drunk a$$ bottomed it out and bent his axel.
It was the guys fault completely but we still "rewarded" him $16,000 because we found the dealer guilty of not doing a good job at the PDI, but not fraud. That $16000 probably just covered his lawyer fees and the dealer probably ended up taking a tax cut from their loss. $16000 to a dealer is nothing.

I work for an auto group. Everyone flys through PDI's. Basically you just install and do the things required to deliver the vehicle, top off the washer fluid, and check tire pressures.

Out of all our stores I will say our Honda store is probably the best with the PDI process. They follow and mark everything in the owners manual that is on the check list. But they aren't required to check a sealed tranny so if that was a Honda issue it wouldnot get caught. Truthfully the vehicle shouldn't leave the factory in my opinion without that being checked after being filled. Either by another line worker or a quality control inspector. Also the levels should be very consistent. It's surprising and alarming to me that they aren't
