    Hi Gang

I am having some issues with the starter on my 2009 DC TRD. When I go to start it and right before the engine begins to turn over... it almost hesitates, or "stuters". Sometimes it even "stalls" almost like when you let off the key to early and don't let it fully turn over.
    Another weird one for ya.
I tried to do some research... but haven't really heard of anything.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks again.

Try holding the key in the "start" position a little longer.

yeah I know... I tried that... I figured I just let off to early (story of my life)...
But doesn't help... still does that almost like a stutter before fully turning over.

There is a TSB for "slow Start" or "No Start" conditions. If your under warranty, check with your local dealer.

Lol...great....TSB for transmission shifting, TSB for rear springs, now I see we have a TSB for not starting. Mine has "not started" 3 or 4 times since I have owned it.

Great little truck. I'm so happy.

Relax everyone, just venting. Although this is probably not the best place to vent about a Taco...:p

Anyone know what the TSB# would be for the not starting issue?

I had a 2008 Tacoma 4x4 access cab for 4 years, and it always had the hard start when it was +5 outside in the spring and fall. I complained a lot to Toyota, and they never could fix it. I recently purchased a 2011 Tacoma 4x4 access cab and this truck has the same problem. The two trucks both did it from day one, and the problem is very random. I wasn't surprised when I joined this forum and started reading other peoples posts about the same crap.

Come on Toyota, make your trucks start like the other big guys. This is really dumb. My new 2011 only has 1200km's on it, and it has already had 6 failed starts. I've also video taped the start up problem, and I'm sending it to Toyota Canada.
