where do you carry your spare shaft? you have it in the bed while you wheel or do you have a good way to mount/store it?

Didn't get around to calling Oliver's today, but will. How did the shipping process work for them? God knows I don't want to pay to ship that heavy fucker USPS or whatever...

We used UPS and it cost about $45 to ship both shafts to me. I wanted them ASAP so I didn't really care about the shipping cost.

I'll look into it then. I gotta send it to 'em and get 'er tubed. Might just take a day off work and head over there.

 You gonna go with a heavier wall tube over the factory tin-foil?

Maybe. Truck gets shitty enough mileage as it is, and really the driveshaft is the only thing under there that I can hurt.

I'd like to go to a smaller OD, but I'm not really sure heavier tube is necessary.

When you get it done find out what the oe wall thickness is. I think I read its .060 somewhere. if it is go thicker. O sixty is poop.

Trac bar is on the right of the shaft. Rock came from the left.

As for not liking decreased OD, I think if it's thicker wall and damn well balanced it'd be fine.

I'd think .120 wall would be sufficient.

It's a function of critical speed. Larger diameter, thinner shafts typically have higher critical speed limits. But you can alter that through choice of material and get to a thinner shaft.

I'll talk with them boys at Oliver's and see what they can do for me.
