My plan is to buy a C8 in a few years. I like to buy at the end of the generation when they’ve gotten all the bugs out.

I stole my 2019 on 2/1/2020 when I bought it. The dealer was clearing all of the C7’s from the lot as it was end of life for the C7 generation. Then the pandemic hit and world changed. My timing was good on that purchase. Same for my Tacoma on 12/1/2020. I’m good for a while.

My issue with the article is that they have created all problems equal.
An infotainment problem is not on the same scale as a drivetrain problem in my opinion.
I’d rather not have my cell phoned synced, than to have walk to my destination.

I’d be interested to see the problems broken down by category.

And Yes, Toyota, just as everyone else, does have problems.
I feel that if something never has problems, you aren’t using it enough.
Use it until breaks. Then fix, repair, or replace.

That’s because the played with the numbers. Look below.

So the Dodge Ram would actually be 267 making the the worse, not best.

That's no longer a Harley, it's just something that has a Harley VIN and a bunch of Chinese junk bolted on it out of a catalog painted in a color the wife likes, well ex-wife. It was a shit test and he failed.

If you gave me a Ram it would still have zero miles on it when I sold it.

Last winter, about when I started shopping around for a new pickup, my 2010 Ranger broke her clutch master cylinder. On the way to the garage with the tow truck driver I mentioned to him that I was undecided between the Ranger Lariat, Canyon Denali, and the Tacoma Sport Premium, he told me he doesn’t tow many new (less than a year old) Toyotas as compared to Rams, Fords, GMCs, and many other brands. I’m guessing he’s knowledgeable on this (he owns 15 tow trucks), so I took his word on this subject. Have to admit, I trust a tow truck driver much more than some(body, thing) called J.D.Power

JD Power makes me laugh. What a joke. Every time I hear them say Ram is ranked best in "initial" quality I laugh so hard. They may look good on the dealer lot but as soon as you put a few miles on a Ram shit breaks loose and falls apart.

Ram is its own brand now. So ram is all the “Ram Trucks” 1500-4500 or whatever they have, and the Ram vans. Dude would be the cars and SUV’s. Challenger, charger, dart, Durango, etc…

They should all just be lumped together. So I understand what you’re saying. No different than Chevy, Buick, and GMC. Ford and Lincoln, Toyota and Lexus, Etc. Infact FCA has the most brands now. Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Fiat.

Keyword for this - INITIAL QUALITY. Doesn’t take into account reliability down the road. Also, I’ve never put much stock into J.D Power stuff.

    Pay to Play awards.
My company gets JD Power awards all the time and I know what goes on here.
Where I work, management only cares about one thing, $$$. Quality is an afterthought.

I have this real stupid way of judging quality. As I see cars on the road with a headlight out, a brake light out or peeling paint, trim falling off... I mostly see Kia, Hyundai and the occasional Ford. Yeah, it's not 100% foolproof but its my measure where if you put the cheapest sh1t on your car, its cheap!

    1. I was a Chevy fan until Chevy dealers didn't want my trades back.
    2. RAM truck was decent but the piddly issues were annoying (dash reboots, window leaking, etc...). Ran great, power
    3. Toyota, reliable and trade in time dealers fight over them

Imagine trying to dodge something in the roadway, or slamming on the brakes with that motorcycle. Uh, no thanks. My 50+ years of riding says hell no.

The way I read that article is that it sounds like Ram has the least amount of problems with phone connectivity :D
