OP. Yes, please, what this guy said. I'm tired of seeing Toyota waste their time verifying that Compustar.

I installed this one a few years back absolutely no problems at all plug and play. I forget where I bought it but you'll have to do some research to see if they also work with a manual trans.

    Found it; AMAZON

After doing some more research on N2, it's looking like I'll be a customer in the not too distant future. Getting out of work after a 12 at 4 in the morning to 6 degrees and frosted over windshield and windows blows.
I didn't even get my first remote start till I was 53, and at 60 now, well, I'm spoiled and don't want to not have one.
Sort of like when I discovered dedicated snow tires at the same age, I was like...how did I ever go so many years without these things.

I may have not yet thanked all the people who posted in this thread, so, thanks!

this is too funny to me.

NO vehicle has a satisfactory stereo system in it for me. i don't care about the price range, they all make compromises i can't tolerate.
and rolls royce doesn't make a truck last i checked...

that's why i bought a tacoma actually-- one of the last newer vehicles that the radio is not integral to the rest of the vehicle systems.

    crazy things happen.

a decade ago we took my mom's '94 surburban for lunch at the grand parents. zero issues. go to leave, it won't start. try checking the battery, try jumper cables, suddenly something just behind the grille starts smoking.

turns out the starter ground had loosened up, and somehow the next nearest path it chose was the 18ga horn ground wire for the replacement ground path. it didn't blow because the starters fuse is 100A+ 'fusible link'

The starter wasn't grounded through the housing and bolts?
