And like a good commercial on TV, I get to use the phrase "but wait...there's more".
Repair was finished up late yesterday and they asked if I minded them keeping it overnight so they could try it out a few times here and there to be sure things were good, I said "sure".
I get a call this morning, the light issue is resolved and everything was right with the world, until the final check this morning.

The fuse has blown again. Lights are all good, but the climate control, lane departure, and pre-collision malfunction is once again an issue.
They are going to tear into it again to see what's up.

So...the "it's mice" camp, and the "it's a botched remote install" camp still have a chance of being correct....joy....

I'm on the fence and starting to consider that it might be a fabled manufacturer defect. Maybe. Probably not. Buuuuut...

    Lol.
See, no matter how good the installer is for aftermarket electronics, they simply cannot test their work like Toyota does.
I read an article once on "Electronic Testing for OEM Vehicles." It was an SAE abstract. While it was as boring as the name implies, there was one really interesting part, and I paraphrase:
"When a new model is launched, our customers assume everything is new from the ground up. While some of the components might be new, the countless testing hours on prior vehicles and the lessons learned on such seemingly simple tasks as wire routing and harness building... are still part of that new vehicle. We might have learned something 20 years ago that we still do today." I think it was a Nissan engineer or Maybe Honda.
Installers test to make sure components work as they have no way to do a durability test on their workmanship.

but... it might be a squirrel so there's that.

And after reading much spirited banter about which round to use, or autoloading or not, I must go against the tide and pick a .22 pellet gun. Ammo has gotten insane on the cost and availability, with most calibers going for almost buck+ per round.

And might as well share a most valuable resource for those members that do partake in the enjoyment of firearms. Ammoseek doesn't sell ammo, but they are a fantastic search engine that shows who has what for how much.

Hey, don't get us wrong. We're rooting for you, and hope all will be fixed up free of charge (hope in not speaking only for myself here).
    Definitely interested in the outcome.
