That should depend on how they deal with. Every business is going to have problems, and mistakes and errors are going to happen; what should really set the tone is not that they happened, but how they deal with them. As long as they cover all repair costs without complaint, that's (IMO) the minimum standard. Bonus points if they reduce the cost of the stereo bill to 'cost' and double points if they eat the whole thing.

I'm sorry I was right but stock parts rarely screw up on the Tacoma. Good luck man.

It could be swamp gas reflecting off of Venus. :-/

Hope they find the issue and can easily fix it!

Kudos to your Toyota dealer for finding the needle in your haystack. Hopefully the audio company backs up their work 100% !

And the story changes. Stereo guy talked with dealership, and the dealership has backed away from the screw theory, they told stereo guy that they actually don't know what the root cause is. Stereo guy is going to have the tech that did my install drive down to interface with the dealer and try to find out what's what.

    Awaiting the pictures... PLEASE

(Also, I am bowing before the glory that is those who said 'installer caused')...

OK, back to just waiting for pictures

Weird, if there's a screw that's not OEM and it went through the ECU that seems pretty cut and dry to me.

That's not your ECU. That's your fuse block.

The ECU is behind the glove box.

Just going with what the dealership was calling it, maybe two separate issues but they didn't send me a pic of the ECU, these were pics they took and sent me, I didn't get any pictures.

    As the world turns...

Don't you hate that, it should be pretty cut and dry.

I was in the Engine / Transmission ECU mindset. It looks like the Body Multiplexer ECU is part of the fuse block.

So wait, who just goes around plonking sheet metal screws all willy-nilly under the dash? I have never heard of any installer doing that for any reason. Your dealer is throwing out some wild ass speculation. I bet they're fun at parties.

That's the plan! Keep your guns, good luck finding any ammo. We've closed down all ammo makers because of environmental concerns.

I'll start researching how to whittle down tree branches and rocks.
