Tires purchased through DTD can be installed at any Discount Tire or America's Tire location for the same in-store installation charge of only $20.00 per tires (plus applicable tax/fee's). As for the Certificates for Refund or Replacement, this protects you again irreparable road hazard damage which is not covered under the standard manufacturer's warranty. While more robust in construction, LT tires can still be punctured - we see it all the time. You can certainly forgo the coverage if you'd like as this protection is totally optional.

It would seem that your local Discount Tire worked you a special deal on the installation and Certificate coverage. As we noted earlier, though, this is not standard practice.

 

I see, but I've also seen others from different states mention the same. Note that my local DT did not sell the certs as coming with free mount & balance, no special deal worked out verbally... Guess it's just a perk of going to one that values their customer?

Realistically, your margins are probably big enough that it's a nominal add-on. OP should find a store that wants his repeated business.

 

Ordered a set of 265x70x17 nitro Ridge graplers. Said to expect delivery in 4 days. Came home from work and my tires were on my back patio in just 2 days. Went to DT to have them installed had to pay for mounting and balance and the certs. Cost $194.00. Had to change out 2 sets of tires and sensors.




I had a $200 gift card from work that I used to pay for installation and $25 in ebay bucks I used to help pay for the tires.

Very happy with the results.
