I sold my 2010 V6 Accord with 154,000 on the original transmission fluid. Ran like a champ.

Oil changes at my dealer non emp price are $40 with bulk oil. Screw paying $40-50 more to use basically the same shit out of the jugs.

You didn’t fuck up. When it comes to auto transmissions I prefer to change the fluid early.

Had my Camry flushed recently at approximately the same mileage. (Same procedure, a couple less quarts of fluid)
The cost was significantly lower, but that's not why I'm posting.
Local shop, so I was able to watch the process, and I'll tell you I would have been happy to pay twice the price, seeing what came out, and what went back in.

Is 70K early? Not for me.

A fuck up? lol Come on old man...

Not an f up, since it was likely only a drain and fill your only changing a bout 4 qts so more often would be better.

I rather change it early vs. let's see if it makes it to X. I'm not going to trust Toyota to tell me what I should do, this transmission already has enough issues at 5 miles. I wouldn't be amazed if these transmissions start dropping like flies as these trucks age.

Had mine flushed, good to do every once in a while, Kinda like an engine flush. Not needed every time, I would advise flushing if you tow heavy loads regularly or “abuse” the trans.
So far, I’ve not found much of a difference in price between DnR or full flush....maybe 40 bucks at most.....

I just remember hearing that a flush can actually push the containments out causing the transmission to slip or more harm to other parts if you wait to long or higher mileage and that routine drain and fills are a safer bet. But could be just shop talk nonsense.

If you never service nothin then yeah, it could.

Having a flush done once in awhile can keep the garbage from building up.

A transmission flush is a perfectly safe service for your car, and is worth the extra money it costs. Transmission flushes have a bad rap however as some people expect a flush to fix major problems, such as slipping and stalling. There are those people that only believe in getting a transmission flush once problems arise, and generally do not care about transmission maintenance at all. These are the people who will often tell you stories about how their transmission failed right after a flush. The reason why transmissions fail right after a flush is not because of the flush itself, but because the transmission was not well maintained and already on the verge of failure. A transmission flush is NOT meant to fix major problems, it is a regular service just like a fluid change, so don’t expect any miracles to happen for a dying transmission.
