spring has arrived and temperatures are warming up for planting... disconnected the temporary battery charger from the tacoma... also decided to do an oil and filter change...

well accidently grounded the positive battery terminal while removing the oil filter... forgot to put back the positive red plastic cover covering the terminal... i got the scare of a loud sharp pop.... and weld marks on my ratchet bar extension and battery terminal... double stupid... did the identical sparks and pop on my chevrolet truck about forty years ago... be safe out there...

A mistake we all made at least once.

Finally, a good reason all my tools got stolen in 2012, I no longer need to look at the stupidity reminder on that one wrench.

So now I always put a rag over a positive battery terminal that doesn’t have a cover. Then on one machine I occasionally do an oil change on, with the starter next to the oil filter, I disconnect the battery before getting my filter wrench in there.

I can admit, I tried to jump start a coworkers rav4 in a hurry and put positive to negative and negative to positive. Fuck. I wasn’t even drunk or anything lol. Luckily, no permanent damaged was done. I feel stupid until this day. But you live and learn I suppose.
