Definitely. I don't want to be in the position where I need to use a piece of my kit that I haven't safely tested before hand.

Gave the go box some fresh libations today. That Jambo dirt is still EVERYWHERE! I did wash up under the hood once I got it all buttoned back up.

More maintenance today, and some rock rash cover-ups.

Put new gear beer in the diffs and t-case, rotated my tires, cleaned the wheels and threw on a fresh coat of derp on them because wheelin', and then painted my skids' battle scars... ya know, because wheelin'.

I also took the opportunity to take a wire brush to my rear drums and finish them in VHT engine enamel. Looks much better!

I'd been experiencing a clunking in the front end when turning right. I thought I may be replacing a ball joint but it turns out my UCA bolt was loose on the drivers side.

... I've still good Jambo dirt to clean off. It's never ending!!!

I feel like this is more of a "Built" Thread than a "Build" Thread...

    Still in for the shenanigans!

When do you plan on doing the other fluid changes?

This is awesome! How do you like it there? Considering doing this. First time seeing it. Sorry if you answered my question in there somewhere but little to :drunk: to read through

I know, I feel like I haven't done anything original that warranted a build thread from the beginning. This shit aint special, mostly just made this thread to keep track of the shit show.

Shenanigans you say!? I like the sound of that. I need you to go LT rear so I can learn from you lol :spy:

All I've got left is the transmission flush, which I may do Monday or some evening next week. Diffs and t-case were easy. I spent more time waiting on fluid to drain and looking up torque values than I did doing actual work.

Thanks man! I like it so far, no problems yet. I think I'll seal up the holes just in case, but the fuses and circuit connections are pretty well covered.

I feel ya on the :drunk:

I've been hittin' the IPAs hard today

I hear ya man! I got a maintenance day come up soon and will be doing the front rotors, pads, spark plugs, oil change, filters, etc. even going to send the oil off to Blackstone Labs to have it tested.

I hope to be able to finally give all the details on the read end stuff next week.

However, I should have a set of Rigid Industries rock lights tomorrow that I will need to install soon as well. Kinda hard to pass up essentially free.

Blackstone labs is fun, they say I have too much iron and silicon in my oil, I think Barnwell may have something to do with that.

Brakes and plugs are super easy on these trucks. If you've never done the plugs you'll need a long ratchet extension and a spark plug socket. If you use a regular deep socket you'll want to have a telescoping magnet to fish the plugs out of the motor. I used a caulk gun and C clamp on my calipers to change the pads and that kept me from having to buy some overpriced specialized tool for that job.

Damn near free lights you say??? SCORE!
