Our 03 Highlander is built on a Lexus chassis but we don't use that for off roading instead use the 08 tacoma double cab for that. At the same time we have had our nephew with his car seat in the back with no problem and plenty of room for his older sister to ride next to him.

    BTW, Welcome to Tacoma World

I don't have children but I thought I'd chime in.... my buddy put his kids with seats in the back of my '08 Access Cab with no prob and room to spare. It's more room than I ever had growing up... parents spoil kids these days.

So a double cab is way more than sufficient.

And come on.. the ridgeline is such a tool car. Might as well get a H2 with some 24's on it... Oh, and don't hit a pot hole with it, LOL. Or a chevy avalanche... got that same horrible tapered back thing going on only worse with it's plastic crap!

Get the TACO, or even a TUNDRA. I sold my 02 tundra last year and it was great but the taco is a LOT more fun to drive! And by the way check the safety ratings, I dont know what the RL safety ratings are but Tacoma's are rated very good
