    Hey TW!!

Just bought my 2014 Silver Sky TRD Sport Double Cab SB. I've been looking for one for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I'm very excited and looking forward to helpful hints and advice from all you guys!

I bought it CPO from Toyota with 29000 miles. It's is in excellent condition.

I'm also looking for ideas as to what I can do to it. I don't want to do too much but I definitely want to give it some functional upgrades. Already ordered nerf bars. What else do you guys suggest to make the truck look more like a "truck"?

So far I love it and I know I will for a long time!

    Here's a pic of my new Taco..IMG_9069.jpg

What do you want to do with the truck?

Are the upgrades for looks or function?

Tires are one of the first things I go for.

Start with tires and go from there. Do what you want to do with it - it's your truck - treat it as such and enjoy! Congrats...

More for function.. but some nice upgrades for looks would be cool too.

Tires, what do you suggest? I have all seasons now. I commute to work 42 highway miles one way to work. Is it smart/practical to go with an off road?

I had a second gen Sport (loved it, BTW) and put Cooper AT3 on it and it really looked nice. I also had Michelin AT2 and they rode great. The tire stayed balanced well. Tires just depend on how you intend to use the truck. If you intend to off-road some but nothing crazy, then most AT tires will do. There are a ton of tire threads on here and you can use the search function to read literally for days and learn a lot. I'm about to upgrade to a more aggressive AT tire from my stock GYs. When I had my Sport I almost immediately changed to an AT tire and I liked the ride a lot better and it gave me a lot more capability. Also, if you want to reply to someone you can just hit the quote option and type in your response. ;)

Fairly common. I think it gives it a better looks but it's all opinion based.

In the last month, I've done tires, snorkel, devil horns emblem, and front mudflap delete. All highly recommended.

    Thanks the real moondog..

Still new to the forum thing.. last time I was on one was back in 06 for my Pontiac G6 .

Anyway, you don't think an AT will decrease my highway MPG? I plan on minimal off roading.. once in a blue.. and take my quad here and there for some riding.. other than that, she'll just be my commuter and truck to have around the house for the occasional trip to Lowe's.

I will look into the tire threads on here.. thanks again!

The Michelin AT2 to me is about as mild of an AT tire that you can get and still have a little function off road. My mileage on my second gen didn't change at all with it. I lost half an mpg when I went to the Cooper AT3 but that tire cleaned out surprisingly well and gave me a great ride and was all I needed at that time. I want more now but for your needs those are a couple of good tires. Even the GY Wrangler Adventure tires that came stock on the new OR would be a good tire but they are pricey. BTW, that is a really nice truck you found. Excellent buy...

    Yeeew. Welcome to the stoke!

Drive it like it sits for awhile and then upgrade as you see fit or need.

Truck is great stock and only gets better as you mod it.

    Awesome info.. thanks again..

I picked it up for $27500 which in my area (Metro NYC) is not too bad. Off lease..

I will look into those tires...
