Kick is an understatement... the wheel partially exploded and then launched out of my hands. I was siting under it and it fell through my hand on to the floor. Turns out it hit my ankle as well and I didn't even realize that until today. Just glad nothing got cut clean off!

Well... I have a short yet important update. We've recently added to the family after the loss of two of our dogs in quick succession. Meet our new passenger, Maxx.

Maxx is a Chiweenie. Never had a little dog before but this little guy has absolutely stole my heart:

So it appears that when I had my alignment done for my 33's, the shop who claimed to know 4x4's didn't move the caster forward at all. My dumbass has been playing with wheel spacers to maximize the clearance at full lock... starting at 1.25" then dropping back to .75" (since I'm still running OEM wheels). I still rub... and and after looking at my CAM tabs more recently, I figured out the control arms are sitting in the neutral, to reward position explaining my inability to avoid contact. So this past weekend I trimmed a little more from the fender flare at the back of the arch (toward the doors) and noticed that I have bent both front fenders at the bottom due to contact... (I'll add pictures here later)

I originally though the damage on the drivers side was because i got the truck stuck in a giant mud rut and bottomed to the rock rails in the process. Turns out, it's more than likely a result of my tires jamming into the fenders during wheeling.

I wish I wouldn't procrastinate on things for the truck as they just end up either costing more later, or causing damage else where. I have been holding off on a new alignment because I'll be pulling the front end apart eventually to gusset the upper buckets, the spindles and the cam tabs. So I'm forcing some change.

Last night I ordered a set of 16 x 8 0mm offset FN Five stars in Matte Bronze. Before putting those on the front end work will need to be wrapped up so now I have a little motivation. Anyone want to come help disassemble and weld? Lots to do!

I pushed to get the wheels on since it would eliminate the need for the wheel spacers, and equate to approximately the same amount of "poke" thanks to the proper offset + wheel width combo. They don't make the clearance issue any worse than before, so there is no issue here.

I hadn't really contemplated the difference in wheel width going from stock to aftermarket (7" -> 9") and how it would make the tires look different. Most wouldn't notice, but I can tell the difference. Also, I am going to have to verify the air pressure in the tires, as the trucks seems to ride different. I know the lighter wheels may have a minor impact as well since they are on the "sprung" side of the dynamics equation.

Had a great trip over the weekend following DBB.

A true testament to the strength of the CBI dual swing out. Caught my Hi-Lift on a rock while trying to climb a mud hill. Totally wasted the hi-Lift, but made no impact to the swing out.

I’ve already ordered an new main shaft/support and will rebuild the Hi-Lift… then mount in the bed!
