Looking for a jack that will work with my 3" lift and 285s. I'd rather not carry around a hilift. Anyone know of an extended jack that will work with those heights and will also fit in the 3rd gen compartments under the back seats? I know a lot of people carry around wooden blocks but i'd rather have a jack that works on its own. Thanks yall

my OEM jacks gets the tires off the ground for changing a tire and I'm running a very similar setup.. (Toytec BOSS 2.0 coilovers with 265/70/18).. I originally thought the same when messing with the factory jack, but if you keep spinning, it has an inner cylinder that starts to come out after the outer cylinder is maxed out.

Stock jack will work, keep in mind you only went up about 1".

People carry wooden blocks for vehicles with actual lifts and offroad tires.

Idk, for some reason my oem jack didn’t lift high enough on my 33s. I had to use a plug when I got a flat.

@fattybinz Ended up getting a 12ton from harbor freight. Fits in the stock location. Snug but it fits.

Where you're jacking from matters as well, if you're trying to do so from the frame it won't ever be long enough.

With 3" suspension and 34" tires I can still change a wheel easily with just the factory road side tools.

That said I still keep the hi-lift and a 3x14x20ish plank in the truck for traction and load spreading and stabilization of the bottle jack should I need any of them.

Not with this truck, but with a car I once had to pull over to change a flat and had to scavenge something to use as a base for the scissor jack as my options were either change the tire in a traffic lane, or attempt to change it in the grass with ground so soft that instead of jacking the car up it was pushing the jack into the earth. It's not a bad idea to keep a bord with you anyways.

A hi-lift is only good as a jack if you have jack points that can receive it, meaning sliders, (and I'd highly recommend a slider adapter,) or front rear bumpers with Jack T slots.

For the rear the stock jack should still provide enough lift from the axle itself, from the front you must lift from the frame near the A arms or from the A arm itself as close to the ball joint as possible.

    WARNING!

Both are very precarious and potentially deadly if you shift or wiggle the vehicle or use the bottle jack on loose or unstable terrain, do this at your own peril.

My bottle jack is an emergency tool only at home I use a floor jack and jack stands, on the trail I use my hi-lift and the spare as my safety.

Your last option if you want to jack more securely from the frame which honestly is the best course of action, is the tried and true:

I was jacking it from the rear pumpkin, since it was a rear tire that was flat. It did lift the truck, but there was still resistance on the tire. Either way, it’s in the trash now. Lol.

If I had to guess I’d say you were dealing with the rear? You have to lift the diff. I had some trouble even with stock tires and the axle tube
