Actually, I just refreshed my memory and the manual does not mention the cross member bulge in the front or the rear diff pumpkin. I could have swore it used to mention those. I have used those locations among others, but usually with a floor jack.

I’ve used these a handful of times in the years I’ve had them (both as a Hi-lift base and to get out of mud/snow) and they are very good quality, not just for the price. They’re stiff enough to do the job well, but they’ll bend a good amount without snapping like some of the cheapos. I recommend em.

As I stated earlier, without the adapter you mentioned this is surely not a good idea on uneven ground.

You can pick up a cheaper bottle jack and piece together the safe jack accessories. That's what I did.

    I don't
Have a picture, but it's a 6 ton bottle jack from Amazon, a safe jack 3" extension, and the u cradle.

Haha same. I’ve used my OEM jack the most and I can’t say I’ve ever used a hilift for it’s intended purpose.

I know it's a little pricey, and it's not a bottle jack that will fit under your back seat, but I got the Pro Eagle 2-ton. It's got the riser that lets me get some extra height, and it's a solid piece of equipment, too. And you did ask about different options.

2 Ton Off Road Jack "OG" - Pro Eagle

I just use it as my regular garage jack mostly. I originally bought it and used it to install my modest suspension lift (1.5" -2ish inches).

That's why i mounted mine on my roof rack. I can get to it from the tailgate no problem though.

Don't waste your breath, he contradics everything he says just so he can quote and argue with folks.

Which is a contradiction to his reply about these threads turning into arguments

I had to change my tire today & noticed that since my 3.5" lift, the jack that came with the truck obviously didn't open up enough to get my tire off the ground, but it did well with a couple pieces of plywood. It was flat ground so if it had been anything other than flat, I'm not sure it would have worked. I then started thinking.. I have a lot more weight on this thing than came stock. Rack & Rooftop tent, Shell, drawer system in back, gear, etc. I'm seeing mixed messages but some of you use the stock jacks with a larger piece of wood, 4x4 without issues? even loaded up? and some of you have beefy jacks, but how much weight do they add to your loads? I just want something I can keep with me that doesn't weigh 50# like the truck jack I had to have with my GMC, those things are beasts.

Generally speaking, a lift on a Tacoma has zero effect on your jack because the general lift has zero effect on the down travel of your wheels. Use your jack on the jack points documented in the owners manual and you will be fine with the stock jack.
