    Here is my recommendation for if you have a floor jack and assuming you mean for the front brakes.

    Jack up the whole front end by placing your floor jack in the center of the cross brace under the engine. You may need a spacer (piece of wood) on top of your jack to get enough travel due to suspension sag.

    Then put a jack stand on both sides of the cross member. If you have too (lack of width), move the jack a bit to one side of the brace, lift and place the stand on the opposite and only go with a single at a time. Not preferred.

    Putting the stands under the A-Arm absorbs the suspension sag, but I just don't think it's as safe/stable a placement point due to having the spring compressed with a wheel off. If I use that method, I leave my jack under the center brace with slight pressure so I know if the jack stand releases, the truck wont fall all the way to the floor.

    Chock your rear wheels, parking brake on, etc...I've seen guys lay the wheel/tire under the frame or A-Arm in case the truck falls.
