Is the stock bottle jack enough to lift a Taco to change a stock size tire? If not what should I get? I know enough that to say a high lift won't work with sliders.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. A Hi-Lift works very well with sliders.

Meant to say that a high lift won't work with out sliders

Another option..... carry a few 2x4s cut to 18ish inches.
    Or a 4x4....

Ymmv, the frame is not your only option with the bottle jack, shit even my tallest floorjack will barely touch the frame with a 2" lift. Even my old 2 ton stands would just touch frame fully extended.

Its dependent on lift and tire size, as well as what lift points u wanna use.

Haha yup. That makes sense. It is certainly harder without sliders or plate bumpers.

Stock tires and stock height is what the stock bottle jack is meant to be used for. They arent going to give you a jack that wont work when everything is stock. Just follow the directions in the owners manual on where to use the jack.

In case of emergencies, you can use the stock jack under your LCA or the rear axle. It will lift from the frame if the truck is completely stock and on flat level ground, but it's usually at the end of it's ability at that point and I wouldn't trust it. Keep in mind that off-camber situations will also affect the amount you need to jack the truck up to get the tire off the ground.

If you're at home and have time, I'd suggest a good floor jack, maybe some 2x4's as other have mentioned.
People have had good fortune with the HF jacks. I have one in the garage and love it.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
A high lift jack used with the lift mate and a jack stand.

It's a pain to use compared to my rapid pump shop jack but it will work in a pinch.

I have 275-17s with a 3" lift and last Friday the stock jack worked just fine. However, I do want to get a hi-lift as soon as I can.
