Jack stand's on asphalt

I've been using the same 3/8" plywood stand supports since 2008 without a single issue. Whether they be on concrete, asphalt, gravel, or even unlevel surface they haven't slipped or cracked.

 

There's some serious drama and over thinking going on here. OP, you're doing it exactly right. 3/4" plywood is more than enough for what you're doing, which makes it perfect. The stands will crunch into the first layer a bit, but don't be worried. There's no way the stands can slip off of the wood once there's some pressure on them.

 

The wood can save that asphalt if it's a really hot day.

 

Yes, there is a bit of overthinking, that's just the way I operate lol. Found out the place is pretty leveled.

Will be using wheel chocks, one jack up front, one in the rear diff (for extra safety), with four jack stands on plywood, tires underneath frame, put in park, with the hand break; woo I'm out of breath.....

I will have my jacks welded later when I have time.

 

Just don't sharpen the bases of the jack stands to a razor's edge before you put them on the wood and you'll be fine.
