Forgot to post here. Picked up the new 700 plus during their sale.. So far i love it. Its in the same shell as the 1000 pro. Charge time is insane. 1.7 hours for full charge from ac.

I had the same thing happen. They basically advised me not to leave it plugged in all the time....only when using. Our Expedition has a 12v outlet in the WAY back that I was using to charge some. Since I was constantly rotating between the 240 and 300, I just left it plugged in. Something about it coming barely loose and trying to make a connection with little taps...similar to how the connector on my AC fan (under the glove box) melted....which is a common problem on our trucks.

I cut the 12v part off and kept the wire with the 8mm connector. Eventually, I'll wire that up to something that can charge it direct from the truck.

I've considered doing a roof rack with solar panel that keeps a secondary battery charged. That secondary batter could be used for the amps that power the speakers and eventual subwoofer, the weboost, and any accessory lights, as well as charging the jackery.

    Only plugged in for trips.

Do you interpret that to mean unplug when not driving?

Damn it. I just bought one for $799 thinking that was a good deal. Now it's $699.

Contact Amazon customer service and ask for the difference refunded. Or return the one and order it again.

I messaged them through Amazon and got this reply. Maybe a call would have been better. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

Amazon support has taken a very steep nosedive in my recent experience. Previously they have been over the top. No longer so.

Ken beat me to it! Looks like they are actually doing steeper discounts than Prime day on some items. They are saying "up to 50% off," but the only one that discounted looks to be the Explorer 700. Which, quite honestly, looks like a pretty good deal at $399.

    https://www.jackery.com/products/jackery-explorer-700-plus-portable-power-station?variant=40257682276439

That puts it at only $50 more than the 500. You get an extra 200W of capacity, double the output capacity (1000W), and bluetooth control (something that seems to be new with the Plus series).

It looks like they have some other items for sale here (incl. some refurbished units): https://www.jackery.com/collections/all

The Explorer 2000 Pro is also pretty close to the 50% off at 48%: https://www.jackery.com/products/solar-generator-2000-pro

What's the difference between Plus and Pro?
The Plus series has an expansion option and bluetooth that can be controlled via an app. Edit: the 700Plus does not have the expansion port. This is available on the 1000Plus and above. Thanks to @Brian422 for pointing that out!

I bought the 700 a while back for same price it was like $440 after tax. Ive enjoyed it so far. Its in the same shell as the 1000 pro so same size with new app integration. To note the 700 plus doesn't have expansion. Thats reserved for 1000 plus and above.

Oh, dang. That's good to know. I'll edit my post. I thought it had the expansion option just like the 1000Plus.

    I ordered a 700 from Amazon.
    It dropped 100 dollars today.
Now, I gotta find a home for a 500. Gonna offer it to a SIL.

I'm very interested to see how you like it. Especially since you have two 500s that I know get used.

I also have a 240 I use for lighting, and it can run the Dometic while charging the other one.
I was getting those from the Amazon Warehouse, and giving to family, for 149 dollars. They quit doing that.

My thoughts before receiving it. (The 700+ LINK )
The price. Seriously. I believe the competition has taken a bite out of their business.
    More capacity, not really required.
Shorter charge time. That is the key winning point.
I am concerned that the size may be an issue if/when I use it, behind the driver seat, on the floor. I currently put (2) 500s there.
I am not likely to need/use the AC outlets. We use the DC and the USB only so far. AC is said to drain faster than the DC. (No experience with that)

App support as well is pretty nice. It is a little bigger but I like the foldable handle a lot. Not to mention the 1000 watt inverter. Charge time and built in ac block for charging. Only complaint I wish it had a 12v 15amp or something instead of the 10am.

It does. I think there is something like a 10% loss when converting to AC.
