ok so some last minute work came up and i am not busy all day sunday. So if anyone still wants to try to get together saturday i should be able to do something.

Oh sorry. I'm busy all day Sunday. And free all sat.

 

I'm busy Sat so maybe we can do something in the near future on some weekend.

Well RangerPeterson and i had some fun checking out Cary State Forest. Its located north on 301. It was pretty cool. Nothing too challenging. With some good rain it would be a blast. But here are some photos that we took. There was one small water crossing that we thought was going to be awesome and turned out to be next to nothing.

RangerPeterson Sorry this is a little off topic, I see you have the black badges. I'm in the process of doing mine. I have them off and painted but having trouble putting them back on. I've tried using the 3m double sided tape but it's not working out too well, what did you use to mount yours back on?

I like your headlights. Are those the HIDS?

If you go to any autoparts store you can get 3M emblem tape. its the same stuff that was on them when you took them off.

 

I went to autozone last night and only found the same stuff that I had already purchased at homedepot that's for outdoor signs and stuff. I'll check another store and see if they have that. Thanks.

 

Hrmm. The emblem i have came with that 3M stuff on it and it works great for me. Lemme see if i can find something.

 

The problem i'm having is I cut strips and place it on the back of the emblem and when I went to peel off the red backing the strip came off.

 

Did you try roughing up the back of the emblem? Sometimes it will stick better if there is some roughness to grip too.

 

I used a wire wheel on a dremel to remove some of the sticky stuff from the factory. I would think that would rough it up enough but I can rough it up some more with some sand paper.

 

Yeah that should be good. How long did you let it cure for before you tried peeling the backing off? You might have to let them sit over night with just the tape on the badge and than in the morning try and put them on. But thats all i can think of untill Brian gives us the how-to.

 

I had one sit overnight becuase I ran out of time. I think that the strips I'm cutting may be too small and not have enough to stick to or something but yeah lets see what Brian has to say.

 

Alright sorry I was out with some friends tonight. Well I had to cut my strips of adhesive pretty small to fill in all of the small areas on the back of the emblems. I used some tweezers to peel the backs off. It takes a little finesse to get the backs off without pealing off the adhesive. Worst case sceneiro you will have to take both sides off of the tape then stick it on the emblem. I had to do this for one or two small pieces. If you need help let me know I am free tommaorw to help out if you need. Once you get the tape off they will stick pretty good too clean paint. Let me know...

 

oh yeah those are the group buy HID's too. Put them in last week.... Love them! Nice and bright..
