I think dad and I are goin fishing tomorrow, we may be running by nassau in the boat...ill give an update as to what we see.

Last weekend I had a buddy in town. The three of us went out of the inlet and were surrounded by mullet and huge tarpon destroying them. Once in a lifetime type images were seen that morning. CRAZY

I wish I could join you guys....could really go for some fishing right now. Busy work week for me though.
I have read several surf reports lately. Looks like the fall mullet run has started and has kicked up the surf action just about everywhere in NE Fl.

Im down for whatever. I wouldnt worry about a tarpon rig. Ill have some stuff to have soakin out there for the big boys.

Im thinkin about just bringing some shrimp or nettin some mullet for trout and redfish. so bottom rig type stuff.

Lures can work, i just dont use them when shore fishing much. I save that fun for teh boats.

I know the south end of Amelia Island has deep water, I fish for tarpon by the bridges in nassau sound which are reachable from the shore there.

AM is a good idea, High tide at 4.30 AM and low at like 11.30 so we will have an outgoing tide all morning which is good for tarpon in that area, tide brings all the mullet out to them.

The point is out by the ocean is actually a bit shallower but ive seen tarpon bustin on the offshore side of the sand bar. If you go about 10 ft off the shore up in the inlet you will be in about 20 to 30 ft of water up by the bridge.

    Ignore black blob.

Green line marks channel, it extends further off the beach than marked but you get the point. I fish for tarpon up by the bridges on the left side. Ive seen tarpon busting bait where the bridges and beach meet.

    Red marks the big sandbar.

Not 100% sure how far along the beach u can go around the point but I think we can get out there a bit as well.

Entrance is on the right side of the road when heading north.

3-5 bucks for a pass. not 100% sure which one it was.
