I would like to go out to some of those, but shit always pops up that takes priority. Lame excuse, I know.

Not a lame excuse at all. Life happens. It seems to me that a lot of us have families and other priorities, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

If I remember correctly, you said you have some kayaks. What kind of kayaks do you have and what type of review would you give them? My family and I went out to Anastasia this last weekend and rented some and we really enjoyed it. So I'm thinking about getting some for all of us.

Funny you bring the kayaks up. I just loaded the truck up with them for my daughter and her boyfriend. They're going fishing at Ft. George over by Huegonot.

The ones we have are Pelicans. One is a fishing kayak (Angler), which we got from Academy for just under $200. The other is more of a recreational kayak (Trailblazer 100) from Dicks, around $150. We waited for deals to come out before buying. For paddles, I researched online for the proper lengths based on our heights and the widths of the kayaks. I can't remember what brand & model they are.

If I were to purchase again, I would have gotten two of the recreational ones. The hull is flatter than the fishing one, making it much more stable. The fishing one is still stable, but not like the other one. My balance is better than my wife's. So I use the fishing one. Both are sit in kayaks. We wanted to keep our center if gravity lower than being on a sit on kayak. Now if we were to tip over, getting back into the sit in kayaks is a lot tougher than a sit-on. Before we went out, we practiced in our pool. Just in case.

They are both 10 footers. Easy to load and unload into the truck. I built a PVC rack for them. I had to have them sitting in some kind of neat order in the bed. For storage, I have them hanging in the garage using a two kayak strap thing-a-ma-jig I bought from Academy. It's okay, but kind of a pain in the ass to use. From our last trip out, I just kept them on the rack in the backyard. I was being lazy.

Here's an older picture of the rack set up that I made. I no longer have the toolbox, so they are both even on the rack. The rack also sits further into the bed. One right side of the rack, I made a little arm for the paddles. There's another one on the left side for fishing poles. The blue one is the recreational kayak.
**This picture was taken at Dutton Island in Mayport. There's a dock (not the main one) that has a kayak/canoe slip that makes getting in and out of the kayak a lot easier. Launching is easier to as it has hand rails to pull/push off of.

When the kids get back, I can take more pictures if you would like.

    That's where we bought them.

Academy always has good deals on a lot of their stuff. Trying to stay focused on why you went in there in the first place is tough to do.

Thats funny.... when I lived there (moving back) the only meet I went to was at BWW... now, I could really care less to even step foot at the OP Mall..esp without a bullet proof vest on...

The OP mall isn't that bad, though you do have to be vigilant wherever you go in this area.

All that being said though, any of you know of a lock box that will fit in the center console for gun storage when I'm at work?

I know how to weld, but it will look like shit since I haven't ran a stinger in years. Easier to buy at this point in time. If the case just drops in and doesn't mount, then it sort of defeats the purpose, so I'll have to read up on it more.

It utilizes the 2 10 mm bolts below center consoles carpet, that holds down the console. They go through the bottom of vault . So unless that vaults unlocked, aint nobody stealing your vault. Or its contents. Or the center console for that matter.
