Did I miss where OP said he was doing it for social media? I think you're a bit out of touch for calling a guy out for wanting to mod his truck how he wants to mod is truck trying to say he's doing it to be cool or for the 'Gram.

Here’s a couple more pics from a backcountry skiing trip in Rocky Mountain National Park a couple weeks ago. 25E97B59-503C-47D8-8444-1333E96F6B7A.jpgF1D25D3E-2229-454D-98BA-668C70C6F850.jpg

Yes sir, they are supremely capable. I’ve got no lift and small 32’s, and I’ve yet to encounter a place I can’t reach with ease. Your build gives me a touch of long bed lust!

Well I sunk the taco in a pond last light. Not completely but the drivers side was pretty deep down in the hole. Ice gave out under the truck and swallowed it up. I had to get it towed out by a wrecker after we tried for a while with my buddies duramax. Getting a weird computer glitch now and also folded up the quarter panel on the passenger side. Shoulda got sliders on it sooner.

Ah gotcha lol, yeah I would say about 6 inches below the drivers window. I didn’t realize that little retention pond was that deep. Ice was about 8 inches thick so I must have just hit a soft spot or something.

Live and learn I guess. I’m gonna order some thus weekend. Fortunately I was able to pull the quarter panel out so it doesn’t look too bad.

Damn, that must have been a sphincter pinching moment when the ice gave way.

Yeah it wasn’t awful at first. Just the front tire went through but as we tried to work it out of the ice it sunk deeper. Once the back tires busted through I was definitely at max kegel flex.

C'mon man seriously ? You didn't think of bringing your water wings ?

Haha but seriously goodluck with the dry out. Hope that is all that happened! Rent a drying unit from a hardware store and yank the carpet and seats? Hopefully no gremlins from it.

Also I got a question about your tire set up. Digging the scs with -10mm, are you using wheel spacers with that setup or no ?

Yeah I have an air king fan running in the cab, seats out and carpet pulled up. I’m gonna hit all the electrical connections with compressed air and some fresh die-electric grease. The only thing that seems to be weird is the TPMS screen keeps popping up on the display. Hopefully it stops once she’s dried out.

Also I’m not running spacers but I’m pretty sure the wheels I have are -12mm. I’ll have to look for the receipt. I had to cut a ton of material out of the front fender wells but there’s no rubbing.

$40K in 2020 and you still get drum brakes.

    Truck looks good though.

So looks like some of the wiring connections got a bunch of water in them and may have burnt a bit. I got everything cleaned up and back together. Hopefully put the truck all back together tomorrow. That stupid matting they put under the carpets really holds a lot of water. 4B0BF709-3E8C-46BD-B501-34ED0C30BA78.jpg
