LOL, I drove the 2.7 and it did not seem to have any ump. That was my experience anyhow. Cheers my good man, I am an old Ford man and I will defend the old 302 to my death.

Now you’re out of your mind. 2.7L is a barnstormer.

I hear the 2.7 is a fast for sure and that is why I test drove it. Matter of fact, I test drove a new 2018 2.7 F150 right before I bought my 2017 Tacoma at the local Ford dealer.

I’d have to agree having owned both a 5.0 and 3.5EB. The 3.5EB gets up. I had the raptor tuned by MPT and it hauled balls on 35s. Even here at 6k ft of altitude.

I have the privilege of driving the latest Ford pickup products, including the New Ranger at work all the time. I prefer my Toyota for a number of reasons, but have a pretty good idea of what Ford is doing at any given time. They are doing great things with these boosted engines. So far we’ve not had problems with 8 of them in the fleet. I think Toyota could benefit from some of Fords ingenuity.

I drove the new Ranger at the local school "drive a Ford" thing. The Ranger felt a little "car like" to me but I am sure it is a good vehicle. This was my son's 2006 Ranger FX4. My neighbors son's truck now...I still love looking at it.

    You mean Ford's "enginuity"?

Oh, wait... no? You meant ingenuity... ok... nm... :pout:

Damn man, looks like you've got a pretty sweet build going right out the starting gate! That kennel setup is pretty nice. I'm not some judgemental PETA dog warrior but just curious on what if anything is your plan for keeping the dogs cool come summertime?

Take the kennels out and let them hang out in the bed/camper shell with windows open?

Ping makes very nice products. These irons were one of the earlier "multi-metal" efforts with tungsten in the toe and sole. Very nice, indeed. But they were named Rapture, not Raptor... :oldglory:

20191006_181921_HDR.jpg I drive around 1000 or so miles a week on a 2018 5.0 v8 F150 and dude is right. it is absolutely neutered now. The 10 speed tranny never met an upshift it didn't like, it'll be in 9th gear @ 40 mph. All the bitching folks do about the Taco's transmission on here is much more accurate describing that horrific Ford tranny. After a week spent driving that land yacht around cruising in the Taco all weekend does in fact feel quite zippy, even with the lift and fatty 33s. Not a shot at the Ford here so no reason to get angry, just my honest opinion from driving both.
