January Nor Cal TW Snow Run 1/15/17

you know it was a good run when the night of nobody posts about it, everybody is sleepy after this one.

I passed out o. The way home. Handed the keys to the wifey and she drove home on the freeway

 

What a messy trip.
Glad everyone made it safe.
Been at work since 4am and zzzzzz.

Them jeeps ruined it for us.
Stuck from 2pm till 7pm.

 

Man, super long day yesterday. I was dozing off on the drive home. Being the last few of the group felt even longer. I'm glad we didn't wait til 11pm to leave as some were saying the road was closed until then.
@PossessedSS 7pm is better then some of us that didn't get out until 830

 

Amen. I stopped at the 1st bar and ordered a double

 

From 7 till 8.30, we waited again at the crash scene.

 

Went up to Lake Davis area. Lots of ice and snow also, but no knuckleheads!

Blown locker doesn't sound good, bummer.

I didnt think i was actually going to make it. I was boarded sitting in the middle of the pack behind the jeep shit show. It took a few attempts to get up the first part and once i got going I didnt want to stop. it was quite a rush hammering down through the trees. once i dumped back out on the road I was in front of everyone. I hung out and waited for them to get out of your way. They were actually a cool group of guys. well the ones I talked to at there camp.Their group is called Gold Hill Posse 4x4. they do volunteer work for the forest service to help keep trails open.. and help with search and rescue up there. There is always bad seeds in every group.
Thanks everyone for coming out, I hope a few of the rookies learned a few things at least the respect for snow and how dangerous it could be, and how import it is to be prepared.

Took my lightbar off to reseal and also rewire. When i took off in front of cha the light went out. Wife dared me to get out bare foot, so i did....a wire was loose. I also got water in it from the eagles lake trip.

Also fixed my bumper. That shit got tugged pretty damn good! But its all good now

 

Hey guys. I had a blast. I had zero experience in how to recover anyone... till this trip. I was cold, hungry and wet towards the end of the day, but it made for some good memories. Here's a couple pics i took on my phone. I know @Icon_4runner has all the good pics!

 

It was great meeting everyone. It was an interesting snow run to say the least. Glad everyone made it back.

 

Where was the crash scene at? when we started coming down the hill I didnt notice anything that looked to bad as far as ice goes.

 

Sorry about tugging so hard on your bumper. but we were tugging each other so its all good.

 

Although I didn't get back till almost 12:30 (damn you Waze for routing me to 89 and it was closed!), I had a blast. Thanks for letting me tag along. I'll post the 360 video when I get a chance to pull it off the camera, but here is probably the only good pic I have that isn't of just my truck .

So that's what you call it now ... a BUMPER? Must be some vigorous tugging

 

everyone calls it something, you come up to the snow and get stuck we'll be tugging on your bumper too. Who knows you might get a chance to tug on mine as well.
