Those look like the dayton audio binding posts.
If so, they are solid. Shouldn't be a problem

Got the box at 90% today. Only thing left is the carpet and secure it. I’m going to test it a while before then though. With windows down it sounds pretty good but windows up it suffers pretty bad. I’m going to build a ported box next. It’s running off a JL XD600/1 @ 2ohms.

Ditto. This is my first sealed box. I’ve always had ported boxes. Now that I know I have room for one that’ll be next.

i highly recommend some fiberglass/rockwool insulation in the box to line the walls to dampen some of the internal resonances. i don't do polyfil, it doesn't have the same thermal conversion characteristics.

all of my past boxes were way too boomy without some sort of internal dampening.

    https://www.avsforum.com/threads/polyfill-vs-egg-crate-foam-vs-fiberglass-insolation.1018700/

note, i'm not implying it will make up the difference between sealed/ported, only that, when properly done, it will definitely improve the response characteristics of the sealed box.

I love to watch builds like this. I’m SOOOO not up to the level of this in so many ways. But it amazes me to see people who are, and what they can accomplish. It’s really inspiring to me to tear it all out and start again. I won’t because it works and I don’t have the abilities, but I should.

agreed. Lots of info out there too if you have the time. I’m certainly no expert (not even a novice really lol) but I did manage to build a really nice down firing 12” box for my wakeboard boat that doubled as a step to get in and out on the dock. Probably should have kept it when I sold the boat. Routered out one side into a Nautique logo and backfilled it with plexi then added some leds inside. I bet I had 40+ hours into that thing haha. It certainly is a lot of work and some of you guys have mad skills.

I have some rockwool laying around in the garage. I'll throw some in and see how it sounds. Was never a fan of polyfil as well.

Prep is key and LOTS of research and like @soundman98 said, just do it. I was at first overwhelmed by how to setup a Helix DSP but now I'm comfortable with it. Took a lot of research and playing with it. Patients is a virtue.

My ADHD doesn’t let me have patience. Nor does the other stuff I live with. As it is, I have to install a little at a time, tune a little at a time. Otherwise, I rush, pay no attention, and when I come back, see how big a problem I left. Sometimes paying for things is better than paying for a new truck.

But I do appreciate the encouragement. Maybe one day….:fingerscrossed:

just try to line the box walls with it. if you can pull the insulation into thinner sheets, usually about 1"-ish thick is plenty good. but jamming a big hunk of it in will have the opposite effect!

Small update. Reconfigured the amp layout. Moved the tweeters from the sails to the stock location in the dash. Still needs to do a few more things but for the most part I'm done until I get a good DSP tune.

Welp, caught the bug and couldn’t leave well enough alone. I’m going to build sails for GB15’s. I’ve been collecting all materials and 3D printing mounts. I’ll add my list of materials and where I bought everything shorty. I'm a Patreon member for Peter and am trying to follow Marks video for the sails build, Tweeters MOLDED into Sail Panel! - PERFECT OEM LOOK

Here's the 3D printed mount I think I'm settled on. Created in Fusion 360 and sliced in Cura.
