    Hey fellas,

I Just picked up "5 Feb 2018" a pretty clean 2000 SR5 4x4 V6 5speed Tacoma. I'm making this thread to document my build. I plan on doing a mild build with an end game of having a good daily drivable extra vehicle / trail rig.

    20180205_175608_Film1.jpg

    MOD / upgrades / fixes

    LED Corner markers
    replaced tailgate cables
    replaced driver fender trim
    New vent shades
    Flowmaster Exhaust
HD Motor trend floor mats front and back, couldn't find weather techs and didn't want to pay for them. so far these $32 mats have been Awesome
    5100 Bilsteins
    17" TRD Sport wheels
water resistant HUK neoprene seat covers
    1 1/2" fabtech AAL
    Rustoleum bed liner kit
    Tool box
1.25" wheels spacers installed on front, other 2 still in the box

To do list / Purchased but not installed yet

    Cooper st maxx 285/70 17s

    Future

    Probably 32's or 33's
    Frame sliders
    Lights
Might Black out the back bumper or build one. "it has a little rust, but not to bad"
Might do a custom front, but not sure
Rear view mirror swap with temp and direction

This is by no means my 1st truck build, I am almost 30 and i have been modifying trucks / cars / bikes/ and boats since before i had a license. It is my 1st, 1st gen Tacoma build, i had a 2nd gen single cab long enough to lift it and do a few minor mods right before i sold it. With that said. I'm open to all inputs, suggestions and ideas. I'm excite to start on my new to me toy.

Started putting the new flair on today... Not turning out to be as easy as I thought. Not sure if the one I got was the wrong year or what.... My fender looks straight but my clips aren't aligning properly

Got the corner marker lights swaper with some more appropriate orange leds instead of the white.

Got a fresh set of motor trend mats that fit surprising well. Still doing a little trimming on the back one but I like them so far. Great coverage.

    Fixed the tailgate support cable

Bought the rustoleum bed liner kit date still yet to be determined as to when I will accomplish it.

My window vent shades we are broken, so I ordered a new set and they came in today too

And last but not least I picked up a set of 2nd gen 17" red sport wheels from a buddy.

Well I got my Flowmaster put in today, but I brought it in the garage to try to troubleshoot a clunk sound coming from the back. Found a broken rr shock .....20180301_095652_Film1.jpg 20180301_084839_Film1.jpg

It Sounds great. It gives it a nice little rumble, love the 50 series Flowmaster I have on my wife's Tahoe too.

Finally got my front done. Was a little more difficult due to rusted / seized bolts...

Everything came apart good except the top hat on the strut. The bolt was seized I tried 1st to hold the shaft of the old strut with vise grips while I hit it with my cordless impact, but after about an hour of no luck with that I decided to just cut the bolt. On the second one I just cut the bolt to begin with. In the future I will if I don't plan on reusing the the struts the strut I will just cut it... WAY EASIER...

Got her all back together and my 2nd gen sport wheels put on looking good. I will do the back when I get a chance in the next few days.

    Happy trails guys
