Nice truck! are you able to catch HD radio "consistently" with the antenna? Thinking about getting a shorter antenna but heard only negative reviews about reception.

Thanks! Reception is still good. I did notice a slight drop off in signal when in Hawaii Kai area. No change in town. If I had to do it again, I would just chop the stock antenna just below the height of the roof. My main reason was because I hated hearing the stock antenna hit the ceilings in parking garages.

Weirdly I'm doing a similar thing with my engine cover, although I'm using the metallic high heat paint for mine. It looks really good and gives me a pretty good idea of how mine is going to look when I'm done. How has yours held up? Any peeling or cracking? Also with your decal, did you clear coat over it or just leave it as is?

I've got some minor cracking, but that is only around the areas that house the 2 screws. I did not clear coat it, but the paint is not cracking at all and does not rub off when I wipe it. I put about 4-5 coats.

Eventually if/when I decide to re-do the paint, I will clear coat it.

very nice... ran into your thread while trying to decide between the Bakflip and the Undercover. I like how it doesn't rest on the back and how there are safety buckles for partially flipped.

Trust me you'll love the Undercover Flex. I debated for quite some time and did a bunch of research.

Their head to head videos on youtube, the lower price, and longer warranty got me sold on the flex. Seems you can't go wrong with either though as lots of people have both.
