Thought I would share my experience with JBA as a company so far. I've only had their UCA's for 3 months now, but they have performed flawlessly. Installation instructions were well thought out and getting caster set allowed for no rubbing issues with 33" tires. I originally had some issues setting the caster and contacted the company. They got back with me immediately and looked at my alignment results and steered me in the right direction to get it corrected. And I just received the message below from the company. I know it's automated, but it's a nice touch (even if they did spell torque wrong). If you are in the market for UCA's, I'd highly recommend the JBA's as an option. I do not have any affiliation with them and paid for the arms with my own money. I switched from SPC's to these.

I have had other UCA's from SPC, Camburg and JBA will be the only one I ever use. Top notch customer service, product, etc.

Why'd you switch? Just curious. I've got the HeadStrong supplied SPC UCA with my BP51's now

Those are the ones I had as well, also supplied with my BP-51 kit and I got rid of them for a few reasons:

    • I like the ball joint design of the JBA's better, knowing I can find a replacement at any local automotive store in a pinch (same reason I like 30-06 and 243 rounds, can find them anywhere).
    • I liked the fact that the caster was fixed into the arms and not adjustable. Personally, I didn't trust the the fact that the SPC's were adjustable and have a sliding nut. I'm sure it's a non issue for most, but it was piece of mind for myself.
    • Most of the local alignment shops looked at the SPC's and were baffled by how they worked and I had to go to a "specialist" to have them properly setup. The JBA adjustments are all handled at the lower control arm.
    • I really like the fact that there are grease zerks at the bushings along with the grease zerk at the ball joint. I'm all about keeping things lubed up.
    • To be honest, I like that they are red. It's my accent color and went well with my truck.
    That's about it.

Meh I'm weary of JBAs, had them on a lifted KJ and the design i had allowed the spring to contact the UBJ boot and crack open the seal, allowed grease to leak out, i couldnt see it when greasing them every 3k. Eventually, the ubj let go as I was getting off the highway. This was an older design that used moog ball joints for a chevy half ton. Also, the powdercoat flaked out pretty quick for me.

I'm sure that the new rebuildable joints are better, but i took that as a warning.

I too have had good experiences with them. They just replaced my 2 yr old ball joints for free since mine were rusty. Pretty sweet.

Quality went downhill with the Moog ball joints so they offer their newest UCAs with a higher quality ball joint.

    From their website:

"In 2007 we started making UCAs using Moog ball joints. At one time Moog was the go to for aftermarket replacement parts. Moog is now importing a lot of there product lines and the quality has drop below our JBA standards. We originally introduced the Toyota UCAs with the dark metal Moog ball joints and now have made the switch to our own JBA shiny ball joints. All the Toyota a-arms have the JBA ball joint in them when we ship the orders. Some of the pictures on our web site are out of date with the old Moog joints." End of quote.

Glad to hear that. But there is still the issue of the powder coating flaking off quickly and the way the ubj came, there was no pre load on the boot. Which he originally claimed was fine...but people had issues with the boot popping off. So someone else started making a spacer ring to fill the gap, i guess he eventually started offering them as an option or including them with the a arms.

After all the aggravation with my last vehicle. I'm leaving the suspension on my dd completely stock.
