With that much droop I’d be worried about my CVs if I took the truck off road. That’s more drop than I’ve seen out of any extended travel setup I’ve seen wheeled with stock CVs.

Why a spacer and not bump the spring seat clip up?

 

I'm on the top spring seat setting and still only just a hair over 2" lift on my V8 Lexus ,no higher spring setting

 

Ohhhhh, that seems odd though.

 

They're not progressive coils, so should be the same top to bottom

 

Well contacted JBA and attached some pictures so I will see what Marlin has to say.

 

I’m sure he will too. Already got a reply which mentions the ball joint recall as mentioned in this thread.

 

Anyone else with 6112's having coil contact on the jba ball joint? I need a pretty quick solution and would like to give them a try. Currently sitting on a set of True Travel Dynamics uca's that are junk

 

I have no issues with that. I am 2nd gen., but I don't think it would be much different for a 3rd.

 

I'm running the Baja kit which is pretty much the same as the 6112's on a 3rd gen and ave no issues.

 

Waiting a reply about the True Travel's. Once they say I can return them, gonna give these a try

 

Is this still going on? I didn't get an email from JBA about this, but I would love to get mine replaced. A little over a year and mine look like crap .

 

I have the TRD pro kit, which is the same also as the 6112s with JBAs and have encountered no issues since install. I'd try cycling the suspension for droop to see where you'll end up in terms of UCA travel. There are a couple scenarios to think about, 1) if your ball joint runs out of angle before hitting the coil, 2) you droop out the suspension and the UCA contacts the coil. In either of these scenarios, limit straps are necessary to solve the problem.

 

Yep, sand is always sitting on them after my beach trips. This was after a 3 day trip before she got hosed down. Once they started to rust I bought some oil based under carriage protectant that seems to work well but it was too late at that point.

 

I sent him an email (with pictures) the other week asking about this specifically. Marlin replied very quickly and basically stated what has been said in this thread.

 

I'm hoping neither of those cases, but I don't know until I get them and installed. Really not looking to run limit straps on a bilstein shock. Have them set on the 5th notch and 1/4" spacer on driver. Gonna pull the trigger tomorrow regardless just to have them by the weekend for install
