Wheel spacers. I have oem tundra wheels with 1.25” spacers (a total of 3.65” BS) and I have plenty of clearance between my tire and UCA with 295/70r17.

I was hoping to avoid spacers. Might just run it like this for now until I can afford new wheels with enough backspacing. Thanks.

is this gap above the rubber boot normal? is it suppose to be covering this?

ok. the instructions say to grease until the boots swell but if i put grease in it, it's just gonna leak out of that gap.
    ill send him a photo.
    thanks

Mine is like that too. I don't know looked at it the other day and there was grease seeping out of that opening. I forgot to post about it on here. Did you find out if it is normal or not?

Yea, I would think that boot is designed to hold grease in and if it is separated then what's worse is contaminants will get in. Please keep us posted, mine go on in a week. Thanks.

i will be getting a lift for my rig in Dec. couple of questions. are the new UCAs coming with a coating to prevent rust? i have also read that JBA UCA never go on sale, so what is the point of Promo code field - for other items?
I will be going with the JBAs and with timeline being so close to Black Friday, i want to take advantage of any sales.

I have just encountered this gap on my install.... definitely doesn't look right. I'm wondering if you torque the spindle to the Upper ball joint while the lower is disconnected, it will snug it up better. ??? Let me know if you find anything out.

interesting.... Is this all on the ground at ride height? If so, as soon as you droop a tiny bit it will probably open up and spit grease out.

That's what I am wondering. Or is the gap we are seeing at full droop? Either way I am of the belief that it should not be there.

this is the gap after pumping them with grease. truck is on ground.kind of hard to photograph but i circled it.
i see your point about it drooping down and opening the gap up more, i was thinking the same. im gonna get it back up on the jack once it is free and see what happens.

    Thanks for taking the initiative!

Here is a picture of mine at full droop. I just went out and dropped the LBJ and then retorqued the UBJ... seemed help a bit but I still feel like the boot should cover more. Also the boot on one side is scrunched up on the outside and the other has slid up into the arm. ??

Hmmmm, these are all great pics and raise even more questions. While I was on the site I noticed in the parts section that you can buy just the boots. Might be this is all normal and they never really fit up in there all the way which obviously would allow contaminants and ultimately the boots would wear and need to be replaced.........

Not saying this is a huge deal but for the price........maybe a small deal.........:notsure:

I tend to overthink the hell outta things though. I'm definitely a worry wart!

    @EatSleepTacos

Hey Randy, take a look at the pics I'm quoting here. Some of us want to know about this boot of the ball joint. Should it completely cover the ball and fit up into the UCA or should it act as it's shown here and there be a gap and it scrunch up?

What is keeping the grease in and the dirt out?

Oh, I sent an email asking Marlin at JBA, and we already bugged Joe (@Blackout14) but I wanted to ask you too.

    Thanks,
    Rob
