    JBA UCA, 17" TRD Pro wheels, 255/80-17. Marlin thinks I'll need a 1" wheel spacer to clear. I know it's going to be close, so I was wondering if anyone might be running this exact setup, successfully. I searched and couldn't find exactly this..

    The TRD Pro wheels are 17x7, +4 offset. That works out to 4.15" BS if I'm doing my math right. JBA offers an example of 4" BS working, but with an 8" wheel.

    Marlin is the expert. Maybe my friends @EatSleepTacos or @Blackout14 can answer.

    Ok, cool. Looks like I'm moving to SPC. I just need to find a tech that isn't confused by them.. Thanks for the help.

    I think marlin is incorrect. I’m running 295, which are 40mm wider than a 255. I’m running 3.6” backspaced wheels and have a shit load of room between my tire and uca. You’ll be .5” closer to the uca but also have .8” less tire on each side to worry about. You should have plenty of clearance.

    I know this isn’t what you requested since you want someone with the exact set up but I don’t know anyone with it. Also hopefully that made sense.

    Yeah but with that exact wheel? 4.1” backspacing isn’t much, which in terms of clearing a uca, the less the better.

    Wheel width plays no role when it comes to backspacing. A 5” wide wheel with 4” BS has 4” of wheel behind the mounting point. A 20” wide wheel with 4” BS has that same 4” of wheel behind the mounting point.

    Yeah certainly, but when talking about uca clearance, the only spec that matters is BS. Different amount of BS is needed to clear different width tires.

    @EatSleepTacos @Blackout14 @veggtaco

    I am running 255/85R16 on 16" TRD PRO wheels (16x7, +13mm) and I JUST rub part of the UCA (with the very edge of the tread) when turned full lock. It's not bad so it doesn't bother me too much. The 17" TRD PRO wheels are (17x7, +4mm) so they will stick out 9mm further than my set up and should not rub with my same setup. A 1" spacer would push that setup out way too far for my liking and would probably rub somewhere else. YMMV- these are just my observations and should not be taken as gospel.

    My set up has 9mm less backspacing than the 17" TRD PRO wheels. :)

    I'm running 17" TRD Pro 4Runner wheels, wrapped in 255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx with JBA uca's without any issue

    Edit No UCA clearance issue! I had to bend and trim some plastics, and at certain angle I'm still rubbing against PS mud flap
