You have 4 of those Bubble type washers I can have??? I am going with the JBA's (1) because they are red, (2) you can change the ball joint in the driveway which helps out this simpleton. And I should have just went with them in the first place. Camburg's are nice but with my 3 inch lift I could not get over 2.5 Caster which sucks. Camburg changed the specifications on their website after I complained to them that you can't get great Caster with them. They changed it on their site to say these arms are meant for up to a 2.5 inch lift. 600.00 for not so great Caster. And the JBA's are powdercoated which is also nice up here in the Salt Belt. The Camburgs rusted out and the caps became seized as well.

Why are you changing out the LR's for these? I just installed my LR's and found this thread afterwards. Hoping I didnt make a mistake. Im concerned about the nut that holds the ball joint to the LR arm coming loose.

Torque to 150ft#'s and it won't come loose. I haven't had a problem since I put mine on over 100k miles ago. I want to put the JBA's in because they claim better articulation and I can buy ball joints at the parts store.

Any idea what size socket the nut is? I dont have a socket that big here at home, i used channel locks to get it tight. I know I have a socket that will fit in my tool box at work if I only knew the size.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

Don't drive around like that. I highly doubt that you could tighten that enough to be safe

So driving to and from work every day on something you know is unsafe all the while you have the socket at work and could have tightened it up right away. Not only did you put yourself in danger, you put your passengers in danger as well as everyone else on the road around you. You have any idea what a lawyer would have done to you had there been an accident? Slow down and take a step back, think before doing stupid stuff like this. It could literally save a life.

Well...isnt someone on their pedestal! If you only knew how unsafe so many vehicles are out there. I knew it wasnt as tight as it should have been, but at the same time I over tighten things all the time without realizing it. Its one of the things guys at work give me crap about all the time. I am sure I had it alot tighter with the channellocks than you think. I surprise myself sometimes with how tight I get things without realizing it. Now to put you at ease I didnt drive it after installing the lift until I could get an alignment. I had the alignment at the beginning of the week. I just didnt know if the alignment guy had moved the balljoint or not. I had both set in the middle for initial install just like the instructions said. The driver side was pulled out a little further than the passenger so I didnt know if it had slid or if he moved it. I brought my socket home from work today and torqued it and it was already torqued to 150 ftlbs. So all was good! Ill go ahead and except your apology!
Now back on topic with the JBA uppers!

Absolutely zero apology from me. Reality is, have the tools ready before starting a job. You very simply could have brought the ball joint or whole arm to work, matched up the socket, and brought it home for the install. You did drive it to an alignment shop unsafely, period. I do know how unsafe vehicles are, I run a truck shop and see crazy stuff daily. Tag axles ready to fall out due to broken brackets, unsecured loads, 15 foot sections of rebar just resting on the bed of a truck, it's amazing people aren't killed by this stuff every day all over the country. No way in hell did you get it even close to 150 ft lbs with channel locks, just not possible. Glad all went well though and there were no issues. Like you said, back on topic. Yes the JBA arms are awesome. I have a brand new set of ICON uppers I'm currently selling and will buy JBA when they sell.
