Thoughts on these Two. After 16000km my icon uniballs are shot and I'd like to simplify things with sealed ball joint style.

After some fine tuning growing pains in the JBA design it now appears to be a good stable product. I've got them on my truck paired with ICON extended travel. Works great, balljoints have a zerk for greasing and the ball joint itself is a common part stocked everywhere if you need to change it. No squeaks, noises or other problems so far but I've only had them for a few months of course with maybe 5000 miles on them.

I don't have any experience with Camburgs but for me the JBA appeal was the simplicity in sourcing replacement parts in the future if needed. I wanted low and easy maintenance for the next two decades and while both are ball joints I liked the fact that the JBA joint was really easy to source more or less forever.

I have had the Camburg ball-joint UCAs on now for around 15,000 miles, and they have been great. Just like the JBAs, they take a factory replacement ball joint, so if ever fails, you can replace it cheaply. Also I have no squeaks from the inner bushings ( don't think that was ever a problem, but just saying). The arms also helped out my alignment numbers greatly, bringing my caster numbers up to 2.2-2.4 degrees, while keeping my camber at/near 0 degrees.

What's your lift height? As I have the Camburgs on my truck at 3 inches of lift. And I will say they are okay, I should of went JBA better Caster numbers up to 3.0, easier ball joint replacement, and Lifetime Warranty. I would say go JBA as I will be selling my Camburgs soon

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Funny you posted that pic of the Camburg's... you can do a uniball service kit from Icon and get the billet caps for a lot less than a new set of upper arms.

I have a service kit here which I'm about to install. I ran the caps for the 16,000km I had. Started getting a pop sound. Investigated and found terrible looking uniballs

I too will be purchasing UCAs soon and have been looking at both. As much as I like Camburg, i really like how easy the maintenance of the JBA is and the ability to replace the joint without taking the whole arm off

Another option is SPC UCA's love mine. and the extra adjust ability is awesome, they are very stout units.

FYI, the camburg ones do not have much extra flex over the stock UCA ball joint, i wouldnt recommend them. FYI a typical uniball with misalignment spacers have ~ 70* of flex, SPC ball joints have 80* of flex, and JBA's have 90. Stock is somewhere around 60*.

I would have gone with JBA arms, but at the time i was looking to get UCA's, JBA was having issues with them twisting and breaking.... no thanks.

I was in the same position when I was looking. I ended up going with camburg ball joint style. I chose them because the price was a little better. so far I love them very easy install and my alignment is spot on at 3.0 on the caster and 0.02 camber I do like how the JBA have a removable ball joint without disassembling the whole arm. the flex is a bunch more as well with them over camburg. but I like the way Camburgs look over JBA. just my .02

Hi - I am also purchasing UCA's soon. I asked Headstrong off-road about which may be better - ball joint versus uniball. I'd get ball joint for maintenance but thought they'd have less articulation while off-roading? Is this not correct? They are offering Light racing uca's is $435 w/ free shipping (TW member pricing). I want as much reasonable flex as possible. Thoughts?
Too bad there isn't a group buy going on soon... Thanks!

OK thanks. What do you recommend for uniball? Seems like total chaos are used quite a bit. I am putting on king w/resi 2.5 on the front.

Where did you find the flex info for the uniballs? I can’t find it anywhere
