Hey guys back with another quick question,

Was wondering if anyone currently has JBA Uppers and the MaxTrac 6.5 Spindle for a 2WD Tacoma? Let me know, my only fear is the lift adds caster to the steering knuckle and i wouldn’t be able to install.

Thanks again for everyone who was so helpful on the previous post. Yes i contacted MaxTrac and JBA aswell.

Why wouldn't you be able to install?

I would have too much with my HC UCAs and caster in the steering knuckles; I wouldnt be able to make tight turns in parking lots or such.

The JBA’s are meant to provide extra amounts of caster and any additional could make things tough.

    The spindles provide extra caster???
That's not really true about steering in the parking lots the JBAs add ~1° extra caster
How so? I am not seeing your thinking here.

No what I’m saying is the JBA’s add caster, my question was if the spindles add caster hehe. Honestly, not sure. I had asked JBA themselves if it was compatible with the MaxTrac Spindle and they responded “Yes, it should be fine unless they add any caster to the steering knuckle. It could make it hard to complete tough turns, such as in parking lots.”

@ChadsPride do the maxtrac spindles add any caster? I know a bunch of guys with those spindles run aftermarket UCAs and they are fine

There is no way any spindle/knuckle adds caster. That's not how it works. Caster is the difference between an imaginary line through the pivot point of the upper ball joint and the pivot point of the lower ball joint as compared to vertical. No matter what shape the knuckle is, the line through the ball joints remains the same.

I don’t have the maxtrack spindles. But I do have the jba uca’s and have my truck set with 4* of caster and can turn wherever I wish.

Should have no issue. On MaxTrac website it says nothing about their spindle adding caster and says you also will keep the factory ride and turning radius. So should not be an issue.

That is not how the maxtrac work they move the bearing mounting point down. What that guy did is fuck his geometry completely and did nothing but angle the uca upwards. That's a hacked and cobbled together drop bracket lift. You are fine!

Does the spindle only offset the front two tires? Or the rears aswell? If not id have to buy spacers.

Just the fronts 3/4" per side. I used to run wheel spacers in the back but left them off when I changed wheel and tire setup.

I like it without them, gives it a 'trophy' look :)

    You got a cool truck
