I recently lifted my truck with a 3” suspension lift. The UCA’s were resting on springs so I purchased new jba uppers and they sit below my spring because the steering knuckle is to low. What am I doing wrong? I’m at the point of taking it to a shop and letting them take everything off and put OEM everything back on. I haven’t seen anyone else with these problems? Check photos

Did you make sure you put the arms on the correct side? The ball joint should be behind the shock

Well I’d say it’s one of two things, either the arms were welded together wrong, highly unlikely, or the coil spring is too wide for the arms which really sucks. Judging by your picture they’re installed correctly and I have the exact same arms on my truck with stock coils so I know they fit those. I’d email marlin over at jba and ask him about it, their customer service is incredible!

I’m gunna call in the morning. Most frustrating thing is the lift is on correctly and so are the arms, but the arms have to go down so far for the steering knuckle. It doesn’t make much sense

Can we see the full shock installation including top hat and spring seats? Really curious why the dust boots are down so low.

Looks like they don't have dust boots but I agree, a picture of the top hat and spring seats would be helpful.

Also, are these pics taken with the truck up on a lift/jack stands or are they taken with the vehicle on the ground?

That’s my second thought. He may need to drive it to force it to settle. Even with my HS2 springs on 5100s, my stock UCA were hitting the springs until I drove around the block.

Are you sure the springs/shock are installed correctly? This doesn't look quite right, but it could just be the picture:

    taco spring.jpg

Looks like the the spring is at least 1" away from being seated properly.

The top of the spring wouldn’t sit right unless there was a little gap at the bottle

When you tightened the uca was the truck resting on its own weight or up in the air

That should only matter with stock rubber bushings as the rubber flexes and doesn’t actually turn, unlike the JBA arms with polymer bushings

Honestly it looks like your spring is off center. May be the picture.

It is only way it would sit right at the top but even if it was lined up right the upper would still have to drop too far to connect to the steering knuckle

In this pic, is your truck on the ground or still jacked up?
