Hmm, nice... I'm probably gonna buy a soldering iron here soon and get away from crimping. Any suggestions for a soldering iron?

jason i just got 5m of similar stuff and used all of it for the interior lighting in the runner. So damn bright. There is a much easier way to do the wiring for these little suckers. open one side and insert the strip, open the other and pop in your two wires. The wire side has little spikes that penetrate the sleeve to get to the wire. well worth the couple bucks and time saved

If your planning on doing the LED strips or anything really with a circuit board or circuit components you usually want a 15-25w iron.

For copper pipe and just strait up wire you could get a 150-180w gun. Much faster and doesn't have to be left on all the time. But will melt silicon stuff.

I have both. Use the gun for big stuff, iron for little stuff.

Finally got off my ass and cut out the lower console for the switches I ordered. Wiring can be....tedious work. Done...for now.

Thanks...but only once I hid the rats nest. Seriously...fuck wiring. I still have to tie up some wiring outside the cab for the dust lights.

I also "fixed" the wiring provided by the ARB harness while I was at it. They don't take into account the dimmer.

Well, yet again Geoff Falzone at Giant Motorsports fucks me over.

Another prime example of what I'm talking about and why I despise him and his company. I've been crawling under the truck the last couple days doing some wiring/rewiring and I cam across this. This is the driver's side forward spring hanger. The son of a bitch didn't even weld the inside of the hanger to the frame, only the bottom and outside. If my sliders weren't bolted to hanger, I'm sure I'd be up shit creak without a paddle. Passenger side is welded fully. Apparently he's too fucking lazy to move the gas tank 2 inches to burn the inside in.

    193FC886-24C9-49C1-94FA-DA9076F29354-223_5e0b979c7e98d2076c0954f816e7470e29ed6c79.jpg

This is the kind of shit that pisses me off. I have the original receipts that the previous owner paid for all this work. Giant is by no means the best fab shop in so cal. Generally he's a mid-tier shop that focuses on beams. Yet he completely took this guy for a ride. He got fucked over bad, and after i fix this, I will have literally fixed, or replaced every piece of the rear setup that Giant did except the bedcage.
